2016 MasterCard Memorial Cup Fan Fest Attractions
Good Times Start Here
From May 19 – 29 the MasterCard Memorial Cup will have Westerner Park buzzing with activity. Alongside the on-ice action at the Enmax Centrium, Fan Fest will have plenty of activities to entertain the whole family throughout the day.
Interactive Booths & Games
From virtual reality, to good ol’ fashioned bubble-hockey there will be tons of interactive games fans can try out to get into the spirit of the MasterCard Memorial Cup. Or maybe behind the scenes hockey-action is more your speed, you’ll be able to try your hand at play-by-play with ‘You Make the Call’. With over 20 exhibitors there will be numerous opportunities to get into the game.
Hot Stove
Fans will have the opportunity to listen to great hockey stories from WHL and Rebels Alumni and special guests at the nightly Hot Stove, located in the Parkland Pavilion. The action starts 1.5 hours prior to puck drop and is moderated by on-air personalities.
Museum Displays
There will be numerous exhibits to view throughout Fan Fest, including displays from the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, Red Deer Museum and military exhibitions.
Hockey Hall of Fame Exhibit, presented by Collins Barrow
Hockey’s historical headquarters comes west! An array of CHL, WHL, and NHL trophies will be on display throughout the week inside this unique exhibit. Displays featuring memorabilia, unique facts, and memorable photos from the CHL and WHL’s history bring this showcase experience to life. The Stanley Cup will make a stop by the exhibit for one day only, keep an eye on mastercardmemorialcup.ca for the announcement.
Nightly Entertainment
Molson Canadian Hockey House boasts a great nightly entertainment line-up with a mixture of big-name country and rock bands as well as a variety of local talent slotted to hit the stage. Pre-game and post-game the action won’t stop. Visit mastercardmemorialcup.ca for the full list of entertainment.
Ticketed Concerts: Two concerts will require paid entry and tickets can be purchased on-site at Fan Fest Information Booths beginning May 20; ticket purchases are cash only (ATMs on site). Ticketed concerts are Thursday, May 26 (Bradley Abel Band & Clayton Bellamy Band, $10) and Saturday, May 28 (See Alice & Finger Eleven, $20). Tickets will also be available at the door for purchase, if the event is not sold out.
Fan Fest is located in the Parkland Pavilion, free to the public and open daily, 4 hours prior to puck drop.
Molson Canadian Hockey House is open 4 hours prior to each game and is free entry, unless otherwise indicated. Molson Canadian Hockey House will temporarily close at puck drop, re-opening at the end of the second intermission.Post-game, Molson Canadian Hockey House is 18+.
