Team White Downs Team Green in Annual Green & White Game

Liam Myhre scored twice and Owen Corkish had three points to pace Team White to a 6-5 win over Team Green in the annual Green & White Game on Monday morning at the Art Hauser Centre. Brandon Gorzynski had three assists for Team White as well. Team Green was led offensively by Riley Boychuk, who had two goals and an assist. Benn Harvey and Alisher Sarkenov also had a goal and an assist in the loss. Didn’t see the game in person? Catch a replay of the stream here. Myhre opened the scoring for Team White with 4:31 left in the opening frame. Gorzynski cycled the puck into the corner for the blueliner who one-timed it past Steele Bass. Just before the end of the opening frame, Gorzynski recovered the puck behind the net and fed Carsyn Dyck in the slot and the 20-year-old made no mistake to give Team White a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. Team White capitalized on a strange bounce off a dump in 11 seconds into the second stanza as Corkish was able to tuck it past a sliding Bass to give his side the three-goal lead. Max Malinousky made it a 4-0 game at the 4:27 mark of the second. He grabbed the puck following a turnover at the blueline, cut to the net and lifted a backhander past Bass. Team Green got back into the game with two goals from Boychuk nine seconds apart. He opened the scoring deflecting Sareknov’s shot past Brady Holtvogt at the 6:47 mark. Off the ensuing faceoff, Harvey knocked down a pass along the glass and fed Boychuk in front who redirected into the empty side of the net. Myhre got his second of the contest midway through the period. He worked a give-and-go play with Malaki Martin and fired a shot home from the slot to give Team White the 5-3 lead. Sarkenov got his team back within two less than a minute later. He tipped in Tyler McCracken’s centering pass to make it a 5-3 game heading into the second intermission. In the third, Team Green got it back within one while shorthanded. Evan Smith forced a turnover at the blueline. He found Hubert Clarke with a backhand feed and the defenceman one-timed it past Holtvogt with 12:46 to play. Team White responded three minutes later. Gorzysnki carried the puck into the offensive zone, stopped up, and found a trailing Pherson Loehndorf who was able to glide into his shot and wire one past Bass to put Team White up 6-4. Less than a minute later, Team Green cut into the lead again off the rush. Boychuk fed Harvey streaking down the middle of the zone and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold medallist beat Holtvogt to make it a 6-5 game with 9:04 remaining. Team Green pressed for the equalizer in the late stages of the game, but Holtvogt and Team White shut the door for the rest of the game to preserve the win. Holtvogt made 32 saves to pick up the win between the pipes for Team White. Bass stopped 29 shots for Team Green. With Training Camp now in the rearview mirror, the focus shifts to the 2026 WHL Pre-season. The Raiders open the exhibition slate tomorrow afternoon in Saskatoon against the Blades at SaskTel Centre. Puck drop is 2 p.m. The Blades will be streaming the game on their YouTube channel. The Raiders return home to take on the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Art Hauser Centre on Friday, September 4. Team Protas Wins 2026 Parker Kelly Cup

Jonah Sivertson scored a pair of goals as Team Protas won the 2026 Parker Kelly Cup with a 5-2 victory over Team Modano. Rocco Blazevic, Baden Glithero, and Hubert Clarke also scored in the victory for Team Protas. On the other side, Carsyn Dyck and Athens Shingoose were the goal scorers for Team McAmmond. Karson Varty stopped all 13 shots in his half of the game for Team Protas; Steele Bass made four saves in his half of action. For Team McAmmond, Haize Brightnose made 10 saves in his half, while Brady Holtvogt stopped 11 shots. In the Consolation Final, Team Modano picked up their first victory of the tournament by downing Team Hartnell 7-2. Tate Hanson and Evan Smith each had two goals for Team Modano. Pherson Loehndorf, Brendyn Van Oene, and Louis Judd also struck for Team Modano. At the other end, Riley Boychuk scored both goals for Team Hartnell. Team Protas advanced to the Parker Kelly Cup Championship with a 6-5 shootout win over Team Hartnell. Team Protas will meet Team McAmmond in tonight’s championship, who clinched their spot in the final with two wins yesterday.

Team McAmmond won both of their games on Saturday, placing them in top spot of the Parker Kelly Cup standings as the only undefeated team remaining as games got under way at the Prince Albert Raiders Training Camp. Ben Harvey, fresh off a gold medal at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, led all scorers for the day with four goals between the two games. Riley Boychuk, Easton Gonsorowski, Connor Howe, Will Owens, Alisher Sarkenov, and Brendyn Van Oene each had two goals over the course the day’s action.

MORNING SESSION

Photo Gallery The day’s slate of games started with Team McAmmond skating to a 7-3 win over Team Hartnell. Alisher Sarkenov potted two goals for Team McAmmond. Chayse Fedoriuk, Ryan Richter, Malaki Martin, Brady Filmon, and Ben Harvey also scored. Oskars Luks, Kyle Obobaifo, and Will Owens were the goal scorers for Team Hartnell. No shots on goal were counted for this game. Up next was a 5-4 victory in a shootout for Team Protas. Logan Pickford tallied the shootout winner. He also scored once in regulation. Liam Mhyre, Noah Ulry, and Carter Hope also found the back of the net for Team Protas. Easton Gonsorowski had two goals for Team Modano, while Connor Howe and Brendyn Van Oene also scored for their side. Pickford, Jonah Sivertson, and Maddix McCagherty were the goal scorers in the shootout for Team Protas; Howe and Brock Cripps scored the shootout goals for Team Modano. Photo Gallery In a matchup of the two teams who emerged victorious in the morning, Team McAmmond used a Ben Harvey hat trick to upend Team Protas 3-2. Darius Hordal and Parker Gabriel scored the goals for Team Protas. Haize Brightnose and Brady Holtvogt and teamed up to make 25 saves to backstop Team McAmmond to the win. Karson Varty and Steele Bass stopped a combined 24 shots for Team Protas. In the final game of the day, Team Hartnell got their first win of the weekend with a 6-2 victory over Team Modano. Riley Boychuk struck twice for Team Hartnell, while Brandon Gorzynski, Will Owens, Evan Vigier, and Alex Boldt contributed the other goals. Connor Howe and Brendyn Van Oene both had their second goals of the day for Team Modano. Evan Wandler and Ethan Radke made 21 saves as they shared the crease for Team Hartnell. 2026 WHL Graduates: Prince Albert Raiders

Over the month of August, the Western Hockey League will be celebrating the WHL Graduates from the 2025-26 season in a 23-part, team-by-team series. Today, we continue with a trio who gave it their all with the Prince Albert Raiders.

Aiden Oiring (F) Hometown: Calgary, Alta.
WHL Career Stats: 267 GP – 90 G-145 A – 235 points
WHL Draft: 2020 – Third Round, 58th Overall (Winnipeg ICE) He is Iron Man. Aiden Oiring's introduction to the WHL saw him play 32 games over parts of two seasons with the then-Winnipeg ICE. But after being traded to the Prince Albert Raiders in the 2022-23 season, he didn't miss a single opportunity to don the green and gold. Oiring suited up for every possible game for the Raiders, marking 271 consecutive regular-season and playoff games. The Calgarian enjoyed three consecutive 20-plus goal campaigns in Hockeytown North, starting with a 50-point (21G-29A) run in 2023-24, before erupting for a career-best 85-point (29G-56A) campaign in 2024-25. Oiring led the WHL with a staggering 926 faceoff wins (54.7%). In the 2025 WHL Playoffs, Oiring had 14 points (6G-8A) to reach the second round, highlighted by six goals (including the series-winner) and five assists to erase a 3-1 series deficit and defeat Edmonton in Game 7 of their first-round series. He averaged above a point-per-game again in his final campaign, netting 69 points (28G-41A), including the annual Teddy Bear Toss goal, to help the Raiders to a 52-win season. Oiring racked up 20 points (8G-12A) in 20 postseason contests to reach the 2026 WHL Championship Series, while flexing his faceoff mastery with a league-best 248 wins at the dot (57%). Oiring spent his final two seasons as an alternate captain and graduates from the WHL with 235 points (90G-145A) in 267 career games over parts of five seasons. Brayden Dube (F) Hometown: Roblin, Man.
WHL Career Stats: 246 GP – 77 G-83 A – 160 points
WHL Draft: 2020 – Second Round, 29th Overall (Seattle Thunderbirds) Brayden Dube has always been about being where his feet are. After being drafted by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the second round of the 2020 WHL Draft, Dube spent his 16-year-old season with the Junior A Dauphin Kings and captured the 2022 Manitoba Junior Hockey League championship. He broke into the WHL with the T-Birds in 2022, scoring in his first regular-season game, but found himself making tracks for Saskatchewan 14 games into his WHL career as part of the blockbuster Nolan Allan trade. The Roblin, Man. native continued to climb with 29 points (17G-12A) in his first full season with Prince Albert as the team started to build into an Eastern Conference powerhouse. By 2024-25, he erupted for a career-best 31 goals and 36 assists for 67 points in 68 games, finishing second on the Raiders in goals. His final season was marked by plenty of highs- including his first career hat trick and three-straight game-winning goals on the team's U.S. Division road trip in November. Perhaps none of those goals were bigger than his overtime winner against his former club in Seattle on November 14, 2025. Dube netted 51 points (24G-27A) in total. Dube's final trip to the WHL Playoffs saw him kick off the postseason with a six-game point streak, ultimately logging 19 points (7G-12A) in 20 games. The speedy forward made the most of his time in the league and leaves with 160 points (77G-83A) in 246 games over four seasons and memories that will last a lifetime. Justice Christensen (D) Hometown: Red Deer, Alta.
WHL Career Stats: 263 GP – 55 G-93 A – 148 points
WHL Draft: Listed (Prince Albert Raiders) Prince Albert's outgoing captain proves that the WHL Draft doesn't define what a player can achieve in major junior. In fact, his name was never called at all. The Red Deer, Alta. product earned a roster spot as an undersized defenceman who was invited to training camp in 2022-23. Christensen's first season was more defined by his 66 penalty minutes than his nine points (2G-7A), but the soul-and-sandpaper rearguard took off in the seasons ahead. His sophomore campaign saw him break out with 45 points (13G-32A), earning a berth on the 2024 WHL East Division Second All-Star team. The Raiders dubbed Christensen the 49th captain in team history in 2024-25, and he responded with a blistering 22-goal, 24-assist run. He led all WHL defenders in goals and the 'juice bomb' became something of a signature. Christenson's final season saw him pot a career-high 48 points (18G-30A) without sacrificing the toughness that solidified his hardscrabble reputation around the league. He added another 14 points (5G-9A) in 20 playoff games to reach the WHL Championship Series and, after going undrafted at the NHL level, is preparing to make his professional debut after signing an AHL deal with the Grand Rapids Griffins as a free agent. Christensen bows out of the WHL with 148 points (55G-93A) and 296 penalty minutes in 263 games over four seasons.

Raiders Announce 2026 Training Camp Schedule

Prince Albert Raiders hockey will be back soon at the Art Hauser Centre. The Prince Albert Raiders will open their 2026 Training Camp on Friday, August 28 and will conclude on Monday, August 31 with the annual Green and White Game. This year’s attendees will be divided into four teams named after four prestigious alumni –Mike Modano (1986-89), Dean McAmmond (1989-93), Scott Hartnell (1998-2000), and Aliaksei Protas (2018-20). Camp opens on Friday, August 28 with registration and fitness testing. On-ice scrimmages will take place on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30. Each team will play each other once as they compete for the Parker Kelly Cup with the top two teams facing off on Sunday night at 7:15pm in the championship game. Parker Kelly was picked by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2014 WHL Prospects Draft. Suiting up for the Raiders from 2015-19, Kelly was known for his never-quit attitude and high character. While not drafted into the NHL, Kelly was invited to camp with the Ottawa Senators and earned an NHL contract. He twice won the Johnathan Pitre Memorial Award for the hardest working player at the Senators development camp. Kelly is now a veteran of 339 career games in the NHL as he enters his third season with the Colorado Avalanche. See below for the schedule of scrimmages. Game time is 7 p.m. About the Alumni Scott Hartnell – Scott Hartnell was picked seventh overall in the 1997 WHL Prospects Draft. Born in Regina and growing up in Lloydminster, AB, Hartnell played in 128 games for the Raiders from 1998-2000. In his draft eligible year, Hartnell produced 27 goals and 82 points while serving as the team’s captain. Hartnell was drafted sixth overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2000 NHL Draft. Over his 17-year NHL career with the Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, and Columbus Blue Jackets, he scored 327 goals and totalled 707 points to go along with 1,809 penalty minutes. Dean McAmmond – A product of Grande Cache, AB, Dean McAmmond played for the Raiders from 1989 to 1993. He suited up for a total 217 games with the Raiders, scoring 100 goals and totalling 219 points. He also represented Canada at the 1993 IIHF World Junior Championship, taking home a silver medal. McAmmond was selected 22nd overall in the 1991 NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. He played in 996 NHL games during his 17-year career with nine teams, scoring 186 goals, 262 assists, and 490 penalty minutes. Mike Modano – Mike Modano, from Livonia, Michigan, took the ice for the Raiders from 1986-89. He played in 176 games with the Raiders over those seasons, scoring 118 goals with 176 assists. Modano the first overall selection in the 1988 NHL Draft, joining the Minnesota North Stars. He spent 21 of his 22 seasons with the North Stars/Dallas Stars franchise, winning the Stanley Cup in 1999 with Dallas. He was also a silver medallist in the 2002 Olympics with the United States. Modano is second all-time in NHL scoring by an American with 1,374 points in 1,499 games between the Stars franchise and the Detroit Red Wings. The Raiders retired Modano’s No. 9 in 2013, and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014. Aliaksei Protas – Hailing from Vitebsk, Belarus, Aliaksei Protas was selected 26th overall in the 2018 CHL Import Draft. Protas played in two seasons with the Raiders from 2018-20 and was a key member of the 2019 WHL Championship team. The Belarussian had 120 points in 119 regular season games with the Raiders, added 22 points in 23 contests during the 2019 WHL Playoffs. Protas was selected in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals. He has suited up in 321 games over six seasons with the Capitals, registering 68 goals and 171 points.

The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced today a new multi-year partnership with Nissan Canada, which becomes an Official Partner of the CHL and its Member Leagues — the Western Hockey League (WHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The upcoming 2026 CHL USA Prospects Challenge, featuring top 2027 NHL Draft prospects from the CHL and the U.S. National Under-18 Team, will be held December 1 in Chicoutimi, Que., and December 2 in Québec City. The 2027 Memorial Cup, which will crown the CHL champion, will be hosted by the Guelph Storm in Guelph, Ont., from May 20–30. At the Member League level, Nissan will serve as presenting sponsor of the WHL Prospects Draft and QMJHL Opening Week and as title sponsor of the OHL Playoffs, while supporting other programs and events throughout the partnership. Beyond these national and league properties, Nissan will help advance a range of initiatives over the course of the partnership, including dealer-led activations, youth hockey experiences and fan engagement programs.
