Kosior signs AHL deal with Iowa Wild
The Iowa Wild announced the signing of former Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Landon Kosior to a one year, two-way AHL contract on Tuesday morning.
Kosior, a product of Regina, Saskatchewan, spent his entire Western Hockey League career with the Raiders, spanning four seasons and 213 regular season games. The 2002-born Regina, SK product finished second in team scoring in the 2022-23 season, registering 63 points (17G-46A) in 60 games. He tallied 135 points in his WHL career, including 21 powerplay goals.
In his time with the green and gold, Kosior was the recipient of numerous team awards. In 2022-23, he was named both the Orland Kurtenbach Most Valuable Player and Jim Neilson Most Valuable Defenceman, as well as receiving the Player’s Choice Award Presented by Source For Sports.
In the 2021-22 season, Kosior was the recipient of the Jim Neilson Most Valuable Defenceman, and in 2019-20, he was the recipient of the Belle Merrell & Calla Grasley Award as the Scholastic Player of the Year.
At the conclusion of the Raiders’ 2022-23 campaign, Kosior signed an AHL Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO) with Iowa.
