Penner appeared in 4 exhibition games with the Raiders, scoring one goal. “Cole Penner has decided at this time he would like to play closer to home,” said General Manager Donn Clark. “We feel he could play in the WHL as a 16 year-old, but at this time Cole feels more comfortable in Brooks.”
Meantime, 20 year-old defenceman Jeff May remains with the Minnesota Wild’s NHL training camp. May took part in 3 days of training camp over the weekend including an intra squad scrimmage Sunday. The Wild take on the Detroit Red Wings in an exhibition game tomorrow night in
The Raiders have 26 players, including May on their roster: 2 goaltenders, 11 defencemen and 13 forwards.
Tickets for the 900 CKBI Home Opener are on sale every day at the Raider office this week from 9 AM to 5 PM. Friday the Raiders host the Regina Pats at 7:30 PM at the Art Hauser Centre to begin the 2007-08 regular season. The first 3000 fans receive the Raiders 07-08 magnetic schedules Friday.
