Rudolph named WHL Rookie of the Week
Daxon Rudolph’s list of accomplishments keeps growing in his rookie season. The 16-year-old defenceman has been named WHL Rookie of the Week.
Rudolph started the week with a dominant five point performance on Monday afternoon in Moose Jaw. The Lacombe, AB product scored a goal and dished out four helpers in an 8-2 Raider win over the Warriors. Three of those four assists were primary. He would then record another assist on Friday night against Moose Jaw, as Prince Albert cruised to a 4-1 win on home ice. The helper came on what would stand as Ty Meunier’s game winning goal in the first period.
The rookie of the week announcement comes just a few weeks after Rudolph was named the WHL’s rookie of the month in January.
In 52 games this season, Rudolph has 33 points, ranking him 12th among rookie skaters. His 28 assists are tied for the fourth most among first year players.
The Raiders are back in action on Wednesday night when they welcome the Lethbridge Hurricanes to the Art Hauser Centre. You can purchase tickets for the game HERE.
