Raiders sign assistant coach Ryan McDonald to multi-year extension
The Prince Albert Raiders are happy to announce that assistant coach Ryan McDonald has signed a multi-year contract extension with the club, bringing him back behind the bench for the 2024-25 season.
“I’ve been very fortunate to work with two very good head coaches in Jeff Truitt and Marc Habscheid,” McDonald said. “They’ve taught me a lot about the game and the league.”
“We are excited to move Ryan into a full-time position with the club,” general manager Curtis Hunt said. “We now have our coaches in place for the 2024-25 season.”
“Ryan brings a lot of different things to the team,” head coach Jeff Truitt said. “He’s got a great hockey mind. He’s really been somebody who takes his responsibilities seriously and gets better and better all the time. As a head coach, you’re always looking for that chemistry, and we’ve definitely found it in Ryan, and it’s been a great partnership.”
The extension comes shortly after the Raiders announced Conor Yawney as the second assistant coach.
“I’m excited to get to know Conor and get to work with him,” McDonald added.
