Raiders select forward Sarkenov with second round import pick
The Prince Albert Raiders have selected Alisher Sarkenov from Kazakhstan with their second round CHL Import Draft pick.
Sarkenov is a 17-year-old winger, standing at an even six feet tall, weighing 172lbs.
He spent most of the season with Snezhnye Barsy Astana in the MHL in Kazakhstan. Playing in 52 games, he scored 12 goals and assisted on 13, totaling 25 points. He also played for the U18 national team, scoring five points (2-3) in five games.
Alisher joins his brother, Asanali, in the WHL. Asanali plays for the Spokane Chiefs.
