Raiders hosting CMHA Talk Today night on January 12
Feb. 5, 2025, Prince Albert – The Raiders and the Canadian Mental Health Association are teaming up to raise awareness about the importance of mental health on Wednesday, February 12 when the Medicine Hat Tigers come to town.
The awareness campaign is part of the ongoing commitment by the Raiders and CMHA Prince Albert to implement Talk Today. Talk Today provides mental health support to players and raises awareness about mental health and suicide prevention throughout communities across the WHL.
Wednesday’s game will feature:
- A CMHA-run kiosk so fans can learn more about mental health and the Talk Today program
- Videos featuring Raider players talking about the importance of mental health
- Public address announcements about mental health
A key piece of the Talk Today program has been to educate players about mental health and suicide prevention. Every team has received mental health training specific to suicide prevention. Each team is also now linked to a CMHA Mental Health Coach, who provides support and mental health resources to individuals in need.
“I would like to thank the Prince Albert Raiders for their ongoing support of the Canadian Mental Health Association Prince Albert Branch,” said Ruth Harman, Executive Director of CMHA Prince Albert. “With the increasing challenges of mental health and addiction issues, their support to build awareness and the donations enable us to keep our doors open and provide the essential services to those in need.”
