Raiders acquire fourth round pick from Hurricanes
The Prince Albert Raiders have received a fourth round pick in the 2028 WHL Prospects Draft from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for 2005-born defenceman Matteo Fabrizi and a seventh round pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.
Fabrizi was acquired by Prince Albert from the Red Deer Rebels on December 31st in exchange for 2006-born defenceman Doogan Pederson, 2009- born Miller Robson, and a third round pick in 2025.
In 29 regular season games with the Raiders, Fabrizi picked up four points (1-3), along with 18 penalty minutes and a +7 rating, inserting himself as one of the more physical, shut down defencemen in the lineup.
With the departure of Fabrizi, the Raiders now have five 2005-born (overage) players on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season (Brayden Dube, Aiden Oiring, Harrison Lodewyk, Lukas Dragicevic, and Justice Christensen). Last month that number went down by one, as import defenceman Vojtech Vochvest signed in his home country of Czechia.
