Prince Albert’s season ends with 3-0 shutout loss to Tigers in Game Four
The Prince Albert Raiders’ season is over. The green and gold fell in Game Four by a 3-0 final, as the Medicine Hat Tigers completed the four game sweep.
After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, the first penalty of the second period set the Tigers up for the game’s first goal, as they went to work on the powerplay with Justice Christensen in the box for delay of game. 4:03 into the middle frame, Tanner Molendyk ripped home a point shot past Max Hildebrand, scoring his second goal of the playoffs to put Medicine Hat up 1-0.
With 9:20 left in the second, Oasiz Wiesblatt gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Skating in the right circle, Wiesblatt sniped a shot short side over Hildebrand’s glove. The shot was his 10th goal of the postseason to put Medicine Hat up by a pair.
Hildebrand made a handful of great saves in the second period, as the Raiders were outshot 27-6, and 44-12 after 40 minutes. With 20 minutes to go, Prince Albert had their season on the line as they trailed 2-0.
Hunter St. Martin scored the only goal of the third period 59 seconds in to give Medicine Hat a 3-0 lead. The Raiders couldn’t find a response, as Harrison Meneghin completed an 18 save shutout.
