Hildebrand named WHL Goalie of the Week
The Western Hockey League announced today that Prince Albert Raiders netminder Max Hildebrand has been named Goalie of the Week.
The announcement comes after Hildebrand registered a pair of wins last week. Hildebrand recorded identical 31 save performances on Wednesday, January 29 in a 5-2 win over the Regina Pats, and another 31 save effort in a 5-2 triumph over the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday, February 1. In those two games, Hildebrand recorded a 2.00 GAA and a .939 SV%.
In 36 games this season, the 20-year-old Martensville, SK product has a 3.05 GAA, .915 SV%, and an impressive 23-9-3-0 record. His Goals Against Average is tied for 11th best in the league, while his Save Percentage ranks first in the WHL. His 23 wins are the third most in the league. He has made 1,114 saves this season as well, which is the second highest total, while his two shutouts are also tied for second most in the WHL.
Hildebrand and the Raiders are back in action on Wednesday night when they kick off a three game Alberta road trip in Calgary.
