Game Preview: Round 2, Game 3 vs Medicine Hat
SETTING IT UP:
The Prince Albert Raiders look to dig themselves out of a 2-0 series deficit tonight, as their second round matchup against the Medicine Hat Tigers comes to the Art Hauser Centre. After dropping Game One by a 6-4 final, the Raiders came close in Game Two, but fell 5-4 in overtime.
THE COMEBACK KIDS:
The third period was the best period in both games against the Tigers for Prince Albert. Seven of their eight goals this series have been scored in the third. They scored three third period goals in Game One, and four third period goals in Game Two after trailing 2-0 after 40 minutes. As positive of a sign that that may be, the Raiders will be looking to play that well from the first puck drop tonight.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The penalty kill has been a thorn in Prince Albert’s side in the second round, as it has allowed five goals on eight Tiger powerplays. On the other hand, Prince Albert’s powerplay has been successful, as it has gone 3/9 in the first two games. However, the Raiders have also given up two shorthanded goals this series.
BURR GETS HIS FIRST:
Linden Burrett scored his first powerplay goal on Sunday in Medicine Hat. It was the first of four Raider goals in the third period, as he beat Jordan Swizter with a hard shot blocker side after a faceoff win by Evan Smith.
