Game Preview: November 7 @ Spokane
SETTING IT UP: The Prince Albert Raiders (11-0-3-0) are in the United States as they continue a seven game road trip. Tonight, they visit the Spokane Chiefs (8-8-0-0). Prince Albert kicked off the road swing with a 2-1 win in Lethbridge over the Hurricanes on Wednesday night. Brayden Dube scored in the first period, while Jackson Kostiuk was credited with the game winning goal in the second. Michal Orsulak stopped 25 of 26 shots in the win for the Raiders.
REUNITING THE SARKENOV BROTHERS:
For the first time in the WHL, brothers Alisher and Asanali Sarkenov will go head to head. Alisher is in his rookie season with the Raiders, while his older brother Asanali is in his second season with the Spokane Chiefs.
BACK TO BACK FOR CLARKE: For the first time in his WHL career, Raiders defenceman Hubert Clarke has a multi game point streak going. He has assists in back to back games, and has been in the lineup ever since Brock Cripps and Ben Harvey took off for the U17 World Hockey Challenge.
U17 CHECK IN: Through three games at the U17 World Hockey Challenge, Brock Cripps has three points with Canada Red (1G-2A). Meanwhile forward Ben Harvey has yet to record a point through three games with Canada White. Both players are in action once again today, with Ryan McDonald on the bench as Canada Red’s head coach as well.
BOYCHUK’S STREAK COMES TO AN END: It was fun while it lasted, but forward Riley Boychuk will have to start a new scoring streak. The Raider had his 13 game point streak come to an end on Wednesday in Lethbridge. It’s still the second longest scoring streak in the WHL this season.
