Game Preview: March 7 vs Saskatoon

SETTING IT UP:

The Raiders (34-20-5-1) host the Saskatoon Blades (31-21-3-4) tonight to kick off an important home and home set with their highway 11 rivals. Prince Albert snapped a three game losing skid on Tuesday night, defeating the Regina Pats 4-3 in a shootout. Saskatoon has dropped three of their last four games, most recently a 6-3 setback to the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday night.

TICKET PUNCHED:

With Tuesday’s win against Regina, the Raiders clinched a spot in the 2025 WHL Playoffs. They became the first East Division team to do so, and the fourth team in the Eastern Conference. Prince Albert enters tonight’s matchup five points up on Saskatoon for top spot in the division, and just one point ahead of the Brandon Wheat Kings. Brandon visits the Lethbridge Hurricanes tonight.

FINALLY…:

Vojtech Vochvest found the back of the net for the first time in his WHL career on Tuesday night. In his 121st WHL game, his shot from the point beat Kelton Pyne, causing the Raider bench to erupt with joy for their 19-year-old import defenceman. Vochvest was acquired via trade from the Prince George Cougars back in October.
