Game Preview: March 22 vs Saskatoon
SETTING IT UP:
The Raiders (38-23-5-1) finish their regular season tonight against the Saskatoon Blades (37-22-4-4), with the winner capturing the East Division title. Prince Albert picked up a massive 3-2 overtime win on Friday night in Saskatoon, sliding them into a tie for first place with Saskatoon.
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS:
No matter what the result is in tonight’s game, the winner will finish in first place in the East Division. Doesn’t matter if it’s regulation, overtime, or what happens in Regina between the Pats and Brandon Wheat Kings. Brandon can’t catch whoever wins tonight’s game, meaning they will start their playoff series on the road. The victor between the Raiders and Blades will win the Division title and get the luxury of home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, while the loser would finish either fifth or sixth depending on the result of this game and the one in Regina. Whoever wins tonight will play the Edmonton Oil Kings in the first round of the playoffs. The loser will play Calgary, Lethbridge, or Medicine Hat.
IRON MEN:
Justice Christensen, Brayden Dube, Aiden Oiring, and Ty Meunier will all be playing in game 68 tonight, the only Raiders to play every regular season game.
MILESTONES FOR JUICE:
Last night in Saskatoon, Raider captain Justice Christensen reached 100 career points with an assist. Tonight, he plays in career game number 200.
