Game Preview: January 31 vs Saskatoon
SETTING IT UP:
The Prince Albert Raiders (36-6-4-0) look to push their win streak to nine games tonight as they host the Saskatoon Blades (24-19-3-1) at the Art Hauser Centre. Prince Albert picked up a 4-3 win in Moose Jaw on Tuesday night, and have been idle since. The Blades have lost three straight games, most recently a 5-2 setback in Lethbridge on Wednesday.
THE 16-YEAR-OLDS WIN THE GAME IN MOOSE JAW:
Deadlocked in a 3-3 tie in the third period on Tuesday night, 16-year-old forwards Ben Harvey and Connor Howe connected for the game winning goal with 14:58 left in regulation. Harvey set up Howe for his fourth goal of the season to put Prince Albert up 4-3. The Raiders were dominant defensively in the final frame, allowing just two shots on goal.
WHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Raiders forward Brandon Gorzynski has been named Tempo WHL Player of the Week, fuelled by Co-op. The Dallas Stars prospect netted four goals (including one game-winner) and three assists for seven points and a +7 rating as the Eastern Conference-leading Raiders went 4-0-0-0 on the week. Prince Albert now has back to back Player of the Week winners, as Daxon Rudolph was given the same honour last week.
