Game Preview: January 16 @ Lethbridge
SETTING IT UP:
The Prince Albert Raiders (29-6-4-0) kick off a brief two game Alberta road trip tonight in Lethbridge as they take on the Hurricanes (12-30-0-1). Prince Albert got back in the win column on Tuesday night with a 5-2 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings. Lethbridge has dropped their last five games, most recently a 4-3 loss to the Red Deer Rebels on Wednesday.
RUDOLPH’S INCHING CLOSER TO HISTORY:
With a powerplay goal in Tuesday night’s win, Raiders defenceman Daxon Rudolph has gotten closer to two franchise records held by Josh Morrissey. Rudolph is now just ONE powerplay goal back of tying Morrissey for the most in a single season by a Raiders defenceman. Morrissey had 11 in the 2023-24 season; Rudolph has 10. Rudolph is now also nine goals back of tying Morrissey for the most goals by a Raiders defenceman in a single season. Morrissey scored 28 total in 2013-14; Rudolph is at 19 with 29 games left in the season.
HEAD TO HEAD:
The Raiders are 2-0 against the Hurricanes so far this season, beating them 5-1 at home on December 13, and 2-1 on the road on November 5. Five Raiders (Aiden Oiring, Brayden Dube, Benett Kelly, Riley Boychuk, and Linden Burrett) lead the season series in scoring with two points each. Owen Berge also has two points for the Hurricanes against Prince Albert in two games.
CHENIER PLAYS HIS OLD CLUB:
Hurricanes forward Oli Chenier will play against his former club for the first time tonight. The Winnipeg, MB product was traded to Lethbridge on January 5th for a fourth round pick. Chenier has played in four games as a Hurricane, registering five shots on goal and a -4 rating.

The Raiders head back to Eastern Alberta tomorrow night to take on the Medicine Hat Tigers, who have points in 22 straight games as of today. Medicine Hat set a new franchise record, winning their 18th straight game on Wednesday night in Edmonton. They lead the Eastern Conference with 65 points (30-6-3-2).
