Game Preview: January 11 @ Red Deer
SETTING IT UP:
Prince Albert (19-15-3-0) looks to shake off a three game losing streak tonight in Red Deer as they visit the Rebels (15-19-3-2). The Raiders are coming off of a 5-4 loss in Edmonton last night. Tomas Mrsic scored twice and added an assist, but a late empty net goal proved too much to come back from for Prince Albert.
200 GAMES FOR KOVACEVIC:
In his second game with the Raiders, newly acquired winger Rilen Kovacevic skated in his 200th WHL game on Friday in Edmonton. He picked up an assist in the loss.
SLIPPING DOWN:
Prince Albert’s losing streak has been reflecting in the standings, as they are losing traction with the teams above them. They sit seventh in the Eastern Conference with 41 points. A win tonight could bring them up to sixth place if the Brandon Wheat Kings lose. They enter tonight seven points back of the three teams tied for first place (Calgary, Medicine Hat, & Saskatoon).
APPROACHING MILESTONES:
Aiden Oiring: One goal away from 50.
Evan Smith: Four games away from 100.
Oli Chenier: Seven games away from 100.
