Game Preview: Game Seven vs Edmonton
SETTING IT UP:
It all comes down to this. GAME. SEVEN. The Prince Albert Raiders and Edmonton Oil Kings square off tonight at the Art Hauser Centre with a trip to the second round against the Medicine Hat Tigers on the line. The Raiders picked up a 4-3 win on Sunday afternoon in Edmonton to push the series to a seventh and deciding game. What could be even better about tonight? How about a SOLD OUT crowd! Tonight’s game will be at maximum capacity, and the Raiders will be looking to use the energy from the crowd to help them over the finish line in the first round.
LAST MINUTE HEROICS:
With 52.2 seconds left in regulation in a 3-3 game, Lukas Dragicevic scored the game winning goal on a Raider powerplay. From the point, he took a pass from Rilen Kovacevic (who had a four point night btw) and fired home a one timer past Ethan Simcoe to give Prince Albert the 4-3 win. Dragicevic now sits second in Raider postseason scoring behind Aiden Oiring (9) with 8 points.
A NIGHT TO REMEMBER FOR RILEN:
While he has won a WHL Championship already, Sunday’s game in Edmonton may have been the biggest personal performance of Rilen Kovacevic’s WHL career. A shorthanded goal and three assists racked up a smooth four point night for the 20-year-old, receiving CHL first star honours on the night. Those four points vaulted Kovacevic into a tie for third in team scoring, as he now has 6 points (3-3).
