Game Preview: Game 57 vs Red Deer
SETTING IT UP: The Raiders (24-29-3-0) continue their late season push for the playoffs tonight when they host the Red Deer Rebels (38-15-1-3). Last weekend, the green and gold split a weekend home and home with the Saskatoon Blades. Prince Albert took a win out of Saskatoon in comeback fashion on Friday night, coming back from 4-1 and 5-2 deficits to win 6-5 in overtime. On Saturday, however, the Blades scored three first period goals on their way to a 3-1 win at the Art Hauser Centre, snapping Prince Albert’s five game winning streak. The Rebels, seeded second in the Eastern Conference, are fresh off of a 5-1 win over the visiting Kelowna Rockets on Saturday night. The last time these two teams met, the Raiders took a victory on home ice, winning by a 2-1 final back on January 6th. They have a chance to split the season series tonight.

The Raiders saw a season high five game winning streak come to an end on Saturday night, as they fell 3-1 to the Saskatoon Blades. The streak saw wins against the Swift Current Broncos (4-1), Regina Pats (6-5), Moose Jaw Warriors (5-2), Brandon Wheat Kings (4-3 OT), Saskatoon Blades (6-5 OT).
END THE MONTH ON A HIGH: The Raiders have a chance to even the season series with the Red Deer Rebels tonight. The home team has won every game in their three matchups so far this season. No matter what the outcome is, the green and gold will finish the month of February with a winning record, something they have only been able to do in November (7-4-0-0) and January (7-5-0-0).
THE PLAYOFF PICTURE: All eyes will be on the standings as we enter the final month of the regular season. Heading into tonight’s action, Prince Albert has some work to do, as they sit five points back of the Calgary Hitmen for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The good news is Prince Albert has had the best record among the teams fighting for a playoff spot, going 6-4-0-0 in their past 10 games. The Hitmen have gone 1-8-0-1 in their last 10, and have been steadily falling down the standings. The Broncos and Wheat Kings also sit in front of the Raiders in the standings.
