Game Preview: Game 49 @ Moose Jaw
SETTING IT UP:
The Raiders head to Moose Jaw tonight to take on the Eastern Conference’s fourth ranked Warriors. Prince Albert is coming off of a 4-3 shootout win over Red Deer on Wednesday, which snapped the Rebels’ nine game winning streak. Niall Crocker, Aiden Oiring, and Krzysztof Macias scored in regulation for the Raiders, while Oiring and Sloan Stanick scored in the shootout. Max Hildebrand was solid once again in goal, stopping 43 of 46 shots through regulation and overtime, and two out of three in the shootout.
THE STANDINGS RACE:
The Raiders jumped back into a playoff spot after Wednesday night’s win. Sitting at 21-23-1-3 heading into tonight’s action, the Raiders are one point ahead of the Calgary Hitmen for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. The club is not far behind a few teams in front of them either, as they sit just five points back of the Swift Current Broncos for fifth place.
THE FINAL STRETCH:
The start of February means the regular season is less than two months away from ending. The Raiders only have two games to play in Alberta, coming in Medicine Hat and Lethbridge on February 16 and 17. They also only have two games left to play in Brandon, both of which come in March. The rest of their games will be played in Saskatchewan against East and Central Division opponents. The green and gold have 12 home games left on the schedule compared to just eight left on the road.
