Game Preview: Game 35 @ Saskatoon
THE START OF THE SECOND HALF:
Prince Albert kicks off their second half of the schedule tonight in Saskatoon, where they will battle the Blades for the fourth time this season. The Raiders ended the first half on Friday, December 15th with a 4-3 setback to the Kelowna Rockets. The club ended the first half with an above .500 record at 17-15-0-2, which has them sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, but just two points back of the third seeded Moose Jaw Warriors.
WHO’S OUT:
The Raiders will start the second half without a couple of key contributors on offence tonight. Ryder Ritchie is out with a lower body injury suffered after a knee on knee collision against the Rockets, while Matej Kubiesa is sidelined with an upper body injury.
A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY:
If there was ever a great chance to take down their highway 11 rivals in Saskatoon, tonight would be the night. With Blades’ forward Fraser Minten representing Team Canada at the World Junior Championship, the green and gold will have a chance to do some damage to a shorthanded Bridge City Bunch. Will sluggish legs expected at the start of the game after not experiencing a game-like situation in 12 days, it will come down to what team can shake off the Christmas turkey quicker.
