Cripps named Sandman WHL Rookie of the Week for third time this postseason

Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Brock Cripps has been named Sandman WHL Rookie of the Week for the third time in the 2026 WHL Playoffs.

In two games of the WHL Championship Series Presented by Nutrien, Cripps logged a goal and an assist. In game one, the 16-year-old picked up a primary assist on Braeden Cootes’ powerplay goal in the second period, which put the Raiders up 2-1. They wouldn’t look back from there, as Prince Albert picked up a 4-2 win.

In game two, Cripps struck on the powerplay in the second period. With the Raiders trailing 3-0, a one timer from Cripps beat Anders Miller, making it a two goal game. Unfortunately, the Raiders could not make the comeback, as Everett tied the series up with a 6-2 victory.

In 17 playoff games, Cripps has 19 points (4G-15A), which ranks second in the WHL among rookie skaters.

Game three of the WHL Championship series is on Tuesday night, when the Raiders welcome the Silvertips to the Art Hauser Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30pm.
