Lake Country Co-op Game Preview – Game 15 vs. Winnipeg

RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (4-8-1-1) square off with the Winnipeg ICE (10-4-0-0) for the third time in the Subway Hub Centre this afternoon. On Thursday, the Raiders were downed 5-3 by the Saskatoon Blades. Dallyn Peekeekoot had a goal and two assists for the Raiders, while Ozzy Wiesblatt had a pair of assists. Reece Vitelli had a goal and an assist. Nolan Allan scored the other Raiders’ goal.

PEEKEEKOOT’S POINTS: Rookie Dallyn Peekeekoot recorded his first multi-point night in his fifth career WHL game on Thursday, scoring a goal and adding two assists. The Ahtahkakoop First Nation product now has two goals and two assists on the season with both of his goals coming on the power play.

POWER-PLAY GOALS: Three of Reece Vitelli’s four goals this season have come on the power play after the Winnipeg, MB product found the back of the net with he man advantage on Thursday against the Blades. With that goal, Vitelli took over the team lead for power-play markers this season. Vitelli is second on the team in scoring with 12 points in 14 games played this season.

ON FIRE: Speaking of the power play, the Raiders have scored on the man advantage for three consecutive games. Their last stretch of at least three straight games with a power-play goal came from Nov. 29 to Dec. 13, 2019 when they scored on the power play in six straight.

IN THE GOAL COLUMN: Defenceman Nolan Allan snapped a 19-game goalless drought when he opened the scoring on Thursday night against the Saskatoon Blades. Allan’s last goal came against the Blades as well, finding the back of the net on February 28, 2020.

STREAKING: Justin Nachbaur and Ozzy Wiesblatt are each riding three-game point streaks heading into this afternoon’s game against the Winnipeg ICE.
