Eleven Raiders from 2018-19 Roster Heading to NHL Camps
Prince Albert, SK – Eleven members of the 2019 WHL Champion Prince Albert Raiders will be taking part in NHL camps and tournaments beginning this weekend, including nine players eligible to return for the 2019-20 season.
Six players departed from the Raiders to attend NHL camps. Draft players Cole Fonstad and Aliaksei Protas are attending camps with the Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals, respectively. Sergei Sapego, who signed a contract with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies in July, is taking part in the Toronto Maple Leafs’ camp. Zack Hayes (Anaheim Ducks), Max Martin (Boston Bruins), and Brayden Pachal (Vegas Golden Knights) are attending rookie tournaments.
Three players eligible to return to the Raiders as overagers this season attending camps and tournaments are Parker Kelly (Ottawa Senators), Brett Leason (Washington Capitals), and Ian Scott (Toronto Maple Leafs).
Two graduates from the Raiders and the WHL last season are also taking part in NHL camps. Dante Hannoun will suit up with the Bruins at their rookie tournament while Noah Gregor will play for the San Jose Sharks at the Anaheim Rookie Faceoff against Hayes and Pachal.
The Raiders’ next WHL Pre-season contest is in Warman on Friday night against the Saskatoon Blades (1-0-1-0) at The Legends Centre. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
The Raiders return to the Art Hauser Centre to wrap up their WHL Pre-season schedule on Saturday, September 14 to take on the Regina Pats. Game time is 7 p.m.
The 2019-20 Home Opener is Friday, September 20 when the Saskatoon Blades visit the Art Hauser Centre. Puck drop is 7 p.m. Single-game tickets are now available for purchase. Pick up your tickets at the Raiders Office and online here.
