Leavitt Machinery Preview – Round 2, Game 3 at Saskatoon
RAIDER REVIEW: The series shifts to Saskatoon tonight as the Raiders take on the Blades in Game 3 of their Round 2 series at SaskTel Centre. On Sunday night, the Raiders erased a two-goal deficit to beat the Blades in Game 2 of the series at the Art Hauser Centre. Dante Hannoun had a goal and an assist in the third period, while Sean Montgomery tallied the game winner on the power play. Zack Hayes also scored in the win for the Raiders. Ian Scott earned the win in net by making 24 saves.
VS. SASKATOON: The Raiders lead the best-of-seven series 2-0. The Raiders won the season series against the Blades with a record of 6-2-0-0. The two teams split four meetings at SaskTel Centre during the regular season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sean Montgomery earned WHL On the Run Player of the Week honours on Monday for the week ending on April 7. In his two games, the Calgary, AB product recorded a hat trick in one game and the game-winning goal in the other. Montgomery now has five goals and an assist in six games in the 2019 WHL Playoffs.
FIRST: Zack Hayes’ goal with 28.1 seconds left in the second period of Sunday’s game against the Saskatoon Blades was the first of his career in the WHL Playoffs. The 19-year-old from Calgary has a goal and two assists in 13 career games in the WHL Playoffs. The Raiders have received four goals from their defenceman, which is good for third in the WHL in that category. Vancouver (10) and Calgary (5) are the only teams with more goals from blueliners.
THIRTY-POINT CLUB: Dante Hannoun and Noah Gregor both reached the 30-point plateau for their careers in the WHL Playoffs on Sunday night. With a goal and an assist, Hannoun now has 11 goals and 19 helpers in 38 post-season games. Gregor had an assist in the contest to bring his totals to 13 goals and 17 assists in 30 career games in the WHL Playoffs. The assist by the San Jose Sharks prospect also extended his point streak to five games.
HIGH SCORING: The Raiders haven’t had a problem scoring so far in the playoffs. The team leads the WHL at a rate of 4.33 goals per game. Prince Albert has scored 26 goals in their six games.
NEXT UP: The two teams meet again on Wednesday night at SaskTel Centre for Game 4. Puck drop is 7 p.m. If necessary, Game 5 will be in Prince Albert at the Art Hauser Centre on Friday night.
