\u201cWe are pleased to have Parker make the decision to sign with us; adding another young dynamic defenseman is exciting for our organization as we continue to add key building blocks to our future,\u201d said Vees head coach and general manager Fred Harbinson.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deraney will join the Vees from Fox Motors 15U AAA in Grand Rapids, MI where he has 23 points in 14 games this season.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>We\u2019re excited to officially sign Parker and have him as part of our future,\u201d said Vees director of scouting Adam Sergerie. \u201cParker is a very intelligent, two-way, transitional defenseman who logs heavy minutes for a strong Fox Motors team. He\u2019s positionally sound in his own zone and uses his stick exceptionally well to kill plays. Offensively, he reads the ice with his head up, can move pucks efficiently using his feet, or connecting on clean tape-to-tape passes. His blue line play is outstanding, he moves laterally with ease and uses deception effectively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLocking in both Parker and Thor gives our fans plenty of reason to be excited about the bright future of the Vees blue line.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Detroit Lakes, MN native was drafted in the 2nd round, 27th overall in the US Prospect Draft by the Vees this past summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really excited to join the Vees, I can\u2019t wait to get going and I appreciate the opportunity to play for the organization,\u201d said Deraney.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Calgary Hitmen have signed 2006-born forward Cohen Daoust to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

Daoust came to the Hitmen from the Canmore Eagles (AJHL) where his was leading his team in points with \u00a029 points (15g, 14a) \u00a0in 19 games. Hailing from St.Albert, the 19 year-old finished the 2024-25 season with the Eagles, with an impressive 46 points (24g, 22a) in 53 games.<\/p>\n

RED DEER \u2013 <\/strong>The Red Deer Rebels are excited to announce that forward Owen DeWitt has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.<\/p>\n

The Sicamous, BC, native played two games with the Rebels this past weekend and recorded one assist.<\/p>\n

DeWitt, who is 18, had seven points (two goals, five assists) in 11 games this season with the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL. He split last year between the Kodiaks and Langley Rivermen of the BCHL and had a combined 13 points in 40 games.<\/p>\n

In 2023-24 with the Sicamous Eagles (KIJHL) DeWitt racked up 50 points in 44 games. DeWitt led the Eagles in scoring and was the league\u2019s top rookie.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Portland, Ore.<\/strong> – The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club announced the signing of\u00a0 forward Crewe Schimnowski to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

Schimnowski, 15, currently competes with the Winnipeg Bruins U18 AAA team in the Manitoba U18 Hockey League (MU18HL). In 12 games so far this season, Schimnowski has racked up 27 total points on 10 goals and 17 assists.<\/p>\n

In October, Schimnowski was part of team Manitoba at the 2025 WHL Cup<\/a> in Red Deer, Alberta. He scored two goals in the championship game, en route to a 6-1 win over British Columbia.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re thrilled to welcome Crewe Schimnowski to the Winterhawks,\u201d Winterhawks Director of Player Personnel Matt Davidson said. \u201cCrewe is a proven leader who sets the tone on and off the ice. Fans should get ready to see Crewe make an impact in Portland\u2014this is a player who knows how to deliver when it matters most.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schimnowski was selected 66th overall in the third round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft by Portland.<\/p>\n

“Crewe has a solid body frame that goes strong to the net. He shows a quick release on his shot and gets involved in all areas of the ice,\u201d\u00a0 Winterhawks Manitoba Scout Darry Stevens said. \u201cHis offensive instincts have led him to be a top point producer last year and so far this season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith will join the Vees from the Janesville Jets in the North American Hockey League where he sports a 5-3-0 record to go along with a 2.39 goals against average and a .915 save percentage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKaenan is someone we targeted in the WHL expansion draft that would help solidify our goaltending in the future,\u201d said Vees head coach and general manager Fred Harbinson. \u201cHis size and athleticism gives him a strong presence in the net that will be beneficial against WHL shooters.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Duluth, MN native is a 2008 born goaltender standing at 6\u20192\u201d and just over 200LBS.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to joining the Jets this season, Smith has spent time in the USHL as well as with the USNTDP. He also suited up for team USA in the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup in August helping his team to a Gold Medal. <\/span><\/p>\n

Wenatchee, Wash. \u2013<\/strong> The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are pleased to announce that 2010-born forward Chace Gregg <\/strong>has signed a WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement with the organization. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Gregg is in his third year with the Winnipeg Bruins AAA organization, playing this season with the Bruins\u2019 Under-18 AAA team as part of the Manitoba U18 Hockey League.<\/p>\n

Gregg played the previous two seasons with the Winnipeg Bruins Black Under-15 team of the Winnipeg AAA Hockey League in Manitoba, posting 34 goals and 66 assists for a total of 100 points last season. Following his AAA season, he was taken by the Victoria Royals with a third-round pick in the WHL Prospects Draft this past spring, and was acquired by Wenatchee in a trade with the Royals in September. He also represented the province of Manitoba in last month\u2019s WHL Cup in Alberta, registering three assists while leading his home province to a gold-medal finish. He joins his twin brother, Brayden, as part of the Wild family \u2013 Brayden was taken by Wenatchee in the third round of the WHL Prospects Draft this past spring, and signed his Scholarship & Development Agreement with the club in June.<\/p>\n

\u201cChace is a player that impressed our scouting staff last year,\u201d said Wenatchee Wild director of scouting Leigh Mendelson. \u201cHe is a talented young man with a great motor \u2013 it will be great to have him playing alongside his twin Brayden in the coming years. The Grapevine, TX native was drafted by the Blades in the second round (41st overall) during the 2025 WHL U.S. Priority Draft.<\/p>\n

\u201cChuck is a player who plays fast and with a lot of assertiveness,” said Blades Director of Scouting Dan Tencer, “He uses his excellent mobility to his advantage defensively and makes quality decisions with the puck in transition and offensively. He\u2019s got all the markers we look for in a true two-way defender.\u201d<\/p>\n

A late November birthday, the 14-year-old blueliner has six goals and four assists for ten points in 31 games with Sioux Falls Power U15 AAA south of the border. Johnson recorded four goals and 19 assists for 23 points in 59 games last year with the Dallas Stars Elite 14U AAA Program. The left-handed shot also skated in four games with Dallas last season at US U14 Nationals.<\/p>\n

Across 16 games this season, the Edmonton-born blueliner has tallied four assists. Last year, Reed played with the Edmonton Jr. Oilers U18 AAA team; in 32 games he collected 17 points behind three goals and 14 assists.<\/p>\n

Reed was selected 87th overall by the Portland Winterhawks in the fourth round of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/p>\n

Ladner, B.C. \u2013 <\/b>The Vancouver Giants are excited to announce the signing of 2009-born goaltender Oliver Bryks (Edmonton, Alta.) to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bryks, 16, was the Giants\u2019 <\/span>12th-round pick<\/span><\/a> in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased to announce the signing of Oliver,” Giants General Manager Hnat Domenichelli said. “He is an elite goaltender with a bright future ahead. We look forward to his continued development and contributions to our organization here in Vancouver in the coming years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Bryks played last season for the U18 AAA Edmonton Jr. Oilers in the Alberta Elite Hockey League, where he posted a .916 save percentage, 2.63 goals-against average and 10-5-3 record in 21 appearances.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 6-foot-3 netminder made one preseason appearance for the Giants, stopping 23 of 24 shots in 27 minutes of action on Sept. 3 against Kamloops. He is suiting up this season for Delta Hockey Academy\u2019s U18 Prep team, where he has posted a 3-1-0 record, 3.14 G.A.A. and .878 SV% thus far.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his WHL draft year in 2023-24, Bryks helped backstop Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) to a U15 Prep Championship in the CSSHL, after posting an 11-2 regular season record and 2-0 postseason record. In his 15 total appearances that season, he recorded a .927 SV%.<\/span><\/p>\n

For his efforts, Bryks <\/span>was named<\/span><\/a> the U15 Prep Top Goaltender, in a year where he was teammates with current Giants forward Blake Chorney.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kent, Wash<\/strong>. \u2013 The Seattle Thunderbirds are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Koen Harrold to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cKoen was a player we listed late last spring, and he had a great training camp with us,\u201d said Assistant General Manager Craig Goebel. \u201cHe has followed up that good camp with a solid start to his season. We feel he has the potential to be an offensive threat from the back end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harrold is currently with the New Mexico Ice Wolves of the NAHL. Thus far he has suited up for 11 games, netting 1 goal, and an assist for 2 points.<\/p>\n

Last season, the Calgary native appeared in 21 games with the Oakmoor Academy Patriots 16U AAA, lighting the lamp 7 times, while also recording 15 assists for 22 total points.<\/p>\n
