LETHBRIDGE WINS ROCKY MOUNTAIN CLASSIC
The Lethbridge Golden Hawks took home the 4th Annual Rocky Mountain Classic Bantam Tournament title on Sunday, with a 4-2 victory over the Notre Dame Bantam Hounds. Lethbridge outshot Notre Dame 24-18 in the tournament final. Kyle Petten of the Notre Dame Hounds led all players in tournament scoring, with 7 goals and 7 assists in 6 games.
Lethbridge was led to a 5-1 record in the tournament by forwards Dylan Nevil (6GP 5-4-9), Carson Dyck (6GP 4-4-8), 2002 born Scout Truman (6GP 2-5-7), and 2003 born Zack Stringer (6GP 0-7-7). In addition, standout defenseman and Lethbridge Captain Bowen Byram led all rearguards in tournament scoring with 4 goals and 3 assists, for 7 points in 6 games.
The Lethbridge Golden Hawks moved past the St. Albert Sabres in the tournament semi-final with a score of 3-2, while the Notre Dame Hounds moved past the Rocky Mountain Raiders with a shootout win 5-4, in the tournaments other semi-final.
The 2015 Rocky Mountain Classic was put on by the Northwest Calgary Athletic Association, with all games taking place at WinSport in Canada Olympic Park.
