WHL Cup Recap and Tournament All-Star Team
Red Deer, Alberta – The 2021 WHL Cup was captured by Team British Columbia on October 24, 2021 at the Peavey Mart Centrium, home of the Red Deer Rebels, in Red Deer, Alberta. Team British Columbia went undefeated in all five games they competed in. A valiant effort by Team Alberta was on display as they took the eventual cup champs to overtime in the first meeting between Alberta and British Columbia during game three of round robin play in the WHL Cup. Team Alberta ultimately fell just short losing to British Columbia 5-4. In the second meeting, both teams were contesting for Gold in the final game and a tightly contested affair had BC come out on top. Team BC had a clean sweep of the forward slots on the WHL Cup All-Star Team. Jordan Gavin, Tomas Mrsic and Miguel Marques were named to the team after leading the offensive explosion BC displayed. Blueliner Keith McInnis parlayed his impressive all-round performance into a slot as the lone representative of Alberta on the Tournament All-Star Team.

Team Saskatchewan finished with a record of 1-3-1. They had a back and forth battle with team Manitoba in the Bronze medal game but ultimately captured 3rd place and received their medals from WHL Commissioner Ron Robison. The leading goal scorers for Saskatchewan were Cole Peardon, Ashton Tait and Trae Wilke.
Team Manitoba posted a 1-4-0 record and saw victory against Saskatchewan 3-2 to finish the round robin portion of the 2021 WHL Cup. Manitoba had two representatives on the WHL Cup All-Star team in blueliner Jonas Woo and goaltender Ethan McCallum.
