Thunderbirds sign second-round selection Matthew Hilderman
Kent, Wash. – The Seattle Thunderbirds have signed the 23rd overall pick in the WHL Prospects Draft, Matthew Hilderman to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Hilderman is the second player drafted by the T-Birds in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft to sign with the team.
“We were extremely pleased to draft Matthew and add him to our group,” said Thunderbirds Director of Player Personnel Craig Goebel. “We place a large emphasis on hockey sense and compete, and Matthew brings those characteristics to each game. Playing alongside Brock England during the season was also a key factor in our decision. The Thunderbirds are excited to welcome Matthew and his family to our organization.”
Hilderman spent the 2023-24 season alongside fellow Thunderbird Draftee Brock England, at Edge School U15 Prep. In 23 regular season games, Hilderman recorded 22 goals and 18 assists, totaling 40 points. Hilderman also spent 5 games on Edge Gold U17 Prep, scoring 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points.
