First-ever Hornung Cup to add competitive element to annual training camp<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Regina, Sask. –<\/strong> This year, the Pats are introducing a new competitive element to training camp with the inaugural Hornung Cup, which will see the 68 players divided into four teams that will compete throughout the first three days of camp.<\/p>\n

A Regina native, Hornung played two seasons with the Pats, recording 101 points (49G-52A) in 126 regular-season games. His playing career came to a premature end on March 1, 1987, when he suffered a severe spinal cord injury following an on-ice collision, leaving him a quadriplegic.<\/p>\n

Despite the adversity he faced, Hornung remained a passionate ambassador for hockey. He worked as a scout with the Chicago Blackhawks and NHL Central Scouting Service and remained a familiar face at the Brandt Centre, where his No. 8 hangs in the rafters after being retired by the Pats.<\/p>\n

Hornung\u2019s impact on the game is also honoured through the WHL\u2019s Brad Hornung Trophy, introduced in 1988 and awarded annually to the league\u2019s Most Sportsmanlike Player. The award reflects the qualities Hornung embodied throughout his life: talent, desire and sportsmanship.<\/p>\n

Beyond hockey, Hornung was a strong advocate for education and perseverance. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Campion College at the University of Regina in 1996 and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Regina in 2018 in recognition of his courage and perseverance.<\/p>\n

Hornung passed away in February 2022 at the age of 52, but his legacy continues to live on through the Regina Pats, the WHL and the many people he inspired throughout his life.<\/p>\n

The Brad Hornung Cup serves as a lasting tribute to a beloved Pats alumnus and celebrates the values, character and competitive spirit that defined Brad Hornung.<\/p>\n

The four teams competing for the Hornung Cup will be named after four successful Regina Pats alumni: Clark Gillies, Greg Joly, Jordan Eberle and Sam Steel.<\/p>\n

TEAM GILLIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the most accomplished players in Regina Pats history, Clark Gillies helped lead the Pats to a Memorial Cup championship in 1974 before embarking on a legendary 14-year NHL career.<\/p>\n

Gillies played three seasons with the Pats from 1971-74, establishing himself as one of the WHL\u2019s premier power forwards. In his final season in Regina, Gillies exploded for 112 points, helping the Pats capture the Memorial Cup before being selected fourth overall by the New York Islanders in the 1974 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

The Moose Jaw, Sask., product spent 12 of his 14 NHL seasons with the Islanders, becoming a key member of the club\u2019s dynasty that won four consecutive Stanley Cups from 1980-83. A powerful forward known for his scoring ability, physical play and leadership, Gillies recorded six 30-goal seasons and reached the 75-point mark four times during his NHL career.<\/p>\n

Gillies retired in 1988 after playing 958 NHL games, finishing his career with 319 goals and 378 assists for 697 points.<\/p>\n

His accomplishments were recognized with his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2022, Gillies was also inducted into the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

A Memorial Cup champion with the Pats and a four-time Stanley Cup champion in the NHL, Gillies remains one of the most celebrated alumni in franchise history. His combination of power, skill, toughness and leadership makes him a fitting namesake for Team Gillies at the inaugural Hornung Cup.<\/p>\n

TEAM JOLY<\/h3>\n

A trailblazer for the Regina Pats, Greg Joly left his mark on franchise history both on the ice in Regina and at the NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

Joly played three seasons with the Pats from 1971-74, culminating in a record-setting 1973-74 campaign. The defenceman recorded 92 points (21G-71A) that season, helping lead Regina to a Memorial Cup championship while setting the Pats\u2019 single-season franchise record for points by a defenceman \u2014 a record that still stands today.<\/p>\n

His historic season was followed by another first in franchise history. Joly was selected first overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1974 NHL Draft, becoming the first Regina Pats player ever selected with the top pick.<\/p>\n

Joly went on to play nine seasons in the NHL, splitting his career between the Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings. He also enjoyed success in the American Hockey League, winning two Calder Cup championships, capturing titles with the Rochester Americans in 1981 and the Adirondack Red Wings in 1986.<\/p>\n

Joly remains one of the most productive defencemen in Pats history. He ranks seventh all-time in franchise goals by a defenceman with 41, while sitting second in assists with 163 and third in points with 204.<\/p>\n

A Memorial Cup champion, record holder and first-overall selection, Joly\u2019s impact on the Regina Pats is woven into the history of the franchise. His combination of offensive ability and excellence from the blue line makes Team Joly a fitting name for the inaugural Hornung Cup.<\/p>\n

TEAM EBERLE<\/h3>\n

A Regina-born star who rose through the ranks of his hometown team, Jordan Eberle has become one of the most accomplished Regina Pats alumni of the modern era.<\/p>\n

Eberle played for the Pats from 2006-10, recording 310 points (155G-155A) in 254 career WHL games. His 310 points rank among the highest totals in franchise history, while his 155 goals and 155 assists highlight the elite scoring ability he displayed throughout his four seasons in Regina.<\/p>\n

Eberle enjoyed a remarkable international career with Canada. He captured gold at the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship before returning to Saskatoon for the 2010 tournament, where he was named the World Junior Championship\u2019s Top Forward and Most Valuable Player as Canada captured a silver medal.<\/p>\n

The 2010 season was also a memorable one for Eberle in the WHL. He recorded 106 points (50G-56A) in just 57 games, earning the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy as WHL Player of the Year and the CHL Player of the Year award.<\/p>\n

Selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round, 22nd overall, of the 2008 NHL Draft, Eberle has gone on to play 16 seasons in the NHL. After stops with Edmonton and the New York Islanders, Eberle joined the Seattle Kraken and was named the franchise\u2019s captain in 2024.<\/p>\n

From starring for his hometown Pats to becoming an NHL captain and international standout, Eberle\u2019s career has made him one of Regina\u2019s most recognizable hockey alumni. His skill, scoring ability and leadership make Team Eberle a fitting name for the inaugural Hornung Cup.<\/p>\n

TEAM STEEL<\/h3>\n

One of the most accomplished players of his generation in Regina Pats history, Sam Steel spent parts of five seasons in Regina from 2013-18, establishing himself as one of the franchise\u2019s all-time leading scorers and captaining the Pats on the Memorial Cup stage.<\/p>\n

Steel recorded 338 points (123G-215A) in 258 career WHL games with Regina, helping lead the Pats to the 2018 Memorial Cup Final. Steel was named Memorial Cup MVP after leading all players in scoring with 13 points (2G-11A) in five games.<\/p>\n

In 2016-17, Steel put together one of the greatest individual seasons in Pats history, recording 131 points (50G-81A) in 66 games while leading the WHL in scoring. His outstanding campaign earned him the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy as WHL Player of the Year and the CHL Top Scorer Award.<\/p>\n

Steel also represented Canada on the international stage, winning a gold medal at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship.<\/p>\n

Originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round, 30th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft, Steel has gone on to play nine seasons in the NHL with the Ducks, Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars. He has spent the last three seasons with Dallas.<\/p>\n

Steel ranks seventh all-time in Regina Pats history with 215 assists and remains one of the most productive players to ever wear the Pats jersey.<\/p>\n

A WHL Player of the Year, World Junior gold medallist, Memorial Cup finalist and Memorial Cup MVP, Steel\u2019s legacy in Regina makes Team Steel a fitting name for the inaugural Hornung Cup.<\/p>\n

Players will arrive in Regina on Wednesday, August 26, for registration, with on-ice sessions beginning Thursday, August 27.<\/p>\n

The four teams will compete in a round-robin format on Thursday and Friday before the standings are finalized and the top two teams advance to the Hornung Cup Final on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The third and fourth-place teams will meet Saturday morning, while the top two teams will battle for the inaugural Hornung Cup at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 29.<\/p>\n

Following the Hornung Cup, the camp roster will be trimmed ahead of the annual Blue vs. White Game, which will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 30 at the Brandt Centre.<\/p>\n

All training camp on-ice sessions at the Brandt Centre will be open to the public.<\/p>\n

Regina, Sask. – <\/strong>The Regina Pats are pleased to announce their scouting staff for the 2026-27 Western Hockey League season, featuring a blend of returning scouts taking on expanded responsibilities and several new additions from across the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Regina Pats\u2019 scouting staff combines extensive playing, coaching and scouting experience, with regional coverage across Western Canada and key hockey markets in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mark Kolesar \u2014 Manitoba Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Mark Kolesar has been with the Regina Pats since Fall of 2019, serving as the club\u2019s Manitoba Regional Scout. He brings a wealth of hockey experience to the role, having played professionally from 1994 to 2004. Kolesar spent two seasons in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1995 to 1997, with the remainder of his playing career taking him through the minor leagues and various professional leagues in Europe. His extensive playing background and knowledge of the game provide valuable insight in his role as a regional scout.<\/span><\/p>\n

Andrew Archer \u2014 Alberta Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Andrew Archer is entering his third season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Alberta Regional Scout. Archer brings a strong playing background to his scouting role, having spent his junior hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League. In 2001, he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens and went on to play with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Now based in Edmonton with his family, Archer continues to draw on his playing experience and knowledge of the game in evaluating and identifying emerging hockey talent throughout Alberta.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cole Shepherd \u2014 Saskatchewan Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Cole Shepherd is entering his fifth season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Saskatchewan Regional Scout. Shepherd brings valuable experience in player evaluation and development to his role, highlighted by his time as General Manager of the Saskatoon Blazers of the SMAAAHL U18 league. During his tenure, the Blazers established themselves as a successful program, capturing league championships. His experience identifying and developing young talent provides a strong foundation for his continued work scouting players throughout Saskatchewan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rob Gallamore \u2014 British Columbia Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Rob Gallamore is entering his second consecutive season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s British Columbia Regional Scout. Gallamore is no stranger to the organization, having previously worked with the Pats from 2013 to 2019. His familiarity with the club, combined with his dedication and commitment to player evaluation, makes him a valuable addition to the scouting staff. Gallamore\u2019s willingness to put in the time and effort required to be in rinks across British Columbia provides the Pats with an important presence in the region and a strong connection to emerging talent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rhett Gordon \u2014 U.S. (Colorado Area Scout)<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Rhett Gordon is entering his sixth season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Colorado Area Scout. A proud Pats alumnus, Gordon played for the organization from 1992 to 1996, giving him a unique connection to the club and its history. Gordon brings a strong understanding of player development and the game to his scouting role. He currently serves as the Director of Northern Colorado Youth Hockey, where he continues to be actively involved in the development of young players. His experience both as a former Pats player and as a leader in youth hockey makes him a valuable member of the club\u2019s scouting staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jason Ulmer \u2014 U.S. (North Dakota Area Scout)<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Jason Ulmer is entering his first season with the Regina Pats and will play a pivotal role in the club\u2019s player identification efforts in the United States. A Saskatchewan native from Wilcox, Ulmer developed his game with the Notre Dame Hounds before continuing his playing career at the University of North Dakota. He went on to play professionally in the American Hockey League and spent more than a decade playing in Europe. Following his playing career, Ulmer returned to the University of North Dakota as a volunteer coach, further expanding his experience in player development and evaluation. His extensive playing and coaching background will be a valuable asset to the Pats as they continue to identify and evaluate talent throughout the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sean Fish \u2014 U.S. (Minnesota Regional Scout)<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Sean Fish is entering his first season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Minnesota Regional Scout. He brings an extensive background in player evaluation, with scouting experience across the North American Hockey League, High School Hockey, and the United States Hockey League. His familiarity with the Minnesota hockey landscape and experience evaluating players at multiple levels will be a valuable asset to the Pats. Sean currently coaches High School Hockey in Minneapolis, keeping him closely connected to the region and its emerging talent. His knowledge, experience, and strong presence in the hockey community will play an important role in identifying and evaluating players throughout Minnesota.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dale McMullin \u2014 Head Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Dale McMullin is entering his 15th season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Head Scout. Throughout his tenure, Dale has played a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating talent for the organization. His dedication, work ethic, and communication skills have made him a trusted resource for players, families, agents, and advisors. Edmonton, Alta.<\/strong> \u2013 Regina Pats forwards Maddox Schultz and Liam Pue helped Canada capture gold at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in dominant fashion Saturday, combining for six points in an 8-1 victory over the United States in the gold medal game.<\/p>\n

Schultz and Pue each recorded two goals and an assist in the championship game, powering Canada to its 31st medal at the annual summer under-18 tournament and its 26th gold medal.<\/p>\n

The two Pats forwards were among Canada’s most dangerous offensive players throughout the tournament, finishing with the two highest point totals by U17 Canadians in Hlinka Gretzky Cup history.<\/p>\n

Pue led the tournament with six goals, while Schultz finished with 10 points, tying for the tournament lead in scoring.<\/p>\n

Canada opened the tournament with a 7-3 win over Switzerland before defeating Slovakia 6-1 and Sweden 7-4 to finish first in Group A. Canada then advanced to the gold medal game with a 6-3 semifinal victory over Finland.<\/p>\n

The gold-medal performance capped an impressive summer for both Pats forwards, who were the only two 2010-born players invited to Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team training camp ahead of the tournament.<\/p>\n

Schultz, 16, is coming off a standout rookie season with the Pats, recording 29 points (15G-14A) in 34 games during the 2025-26 WHL campaign. The Regina product also dominated at the U18 level with the Regina Pat Canadians, producing 60 points (30G-30A) in 21 regular-season games. Schultz continued his strong play into the postseason, recording 20 points (12G-8A) in 11 playoff and regional games while helping the Pat Canadians capture both the SMAAAHL championship and Western Regional title.<\/p>\n

His success on the international stage is nothing new. Schultz represented Canada at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he recorded nine points (6G-3A) in five games. His 10 points at this year’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup established Schultz as one of Canada’s premier offensive performers and added another significant achievement to his already impressive resume.<\/p>\n

Pue, 16, also enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign in Regina, registering 16 points (6G-10A) in 34 games with the Pats. The Langley, B.C. product was equally productive with the Regina Pat Canadians, recording 48 points (16G-32A) in 21 regular-season games before adding 18 points (7G-11A) in 11 playoff and regional contests. Like Schultz, Pue played a key role in the Pat Canadians’ run to SMAAAHL and Western Regional championships.<\/p>\n

Pue also returned to the international stage after representing Canada White at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he posted eight points (4G-4A) in five games. At the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, Pue’s six goals led the entire tournament, while his nine points ranked among the event’s top offensive totals.<\/p>\n

The performances from Schultz and Pue marked a historic tournament for the Regina Pats. With Schultz recording 10 points and Pue nine, the two forwards posted the highest point totals by U17 Canadians in Hlinka Gretzky Cup history. Their performances also helped Canada cruise through the tournament, outscoring its opponents by a combined 34-12 over five games.<\/p>\n

REGINA, SK<\/strong> \u2013 The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced a series of changes for the 2026-27 season designed to make Pats hockey more affordable for families, deliver greater value for fans, and begin a new chapter for the Brandt Centre.<\/p>\n

The announcement includes reduced single-game ticket pricing, new weekday pricing, the introduction of a Family Zone, season ticket renewals, and the first phase of a long-term plan to enhance the fan experience at the Brandt Centre.<\/p>\n

While Brandt Sports & Entertainment has proudly owned the Regina Pats for years, the 2026-27 season marks the first year the organization will also manage and operate the Brandt Centre. With the REAL Deal expected to close on September 1st<\/span>, the Pats and Brandt Sports & Entertainment, as a whole, are now able to look at ticket options with an entirely new approach. Bringing the team and facility together under one vision creates a new environment where all parties can remain focused on improving every aspect of the fan experience \u2014 from ticketing and concessions to facility enhancements and long-term investments.<\/p>\n

“This season, we wanted to make Pats hockey more accessible and create a better experience for everyone who walks through our doors.\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>said Shaun Semple, Owner, Brandt Sports & Entertainment. \u201cBy bringing the team and the Brandt Centre together under one vision, we’re able to focus on every part of the fan experience and make decisions with the long-term future in mind.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

For the 2026-27 season, the Regina Pats are introducing a new ticketing structure aimed at making games more affordable and accessible for fans.Highlights include:<\/p>\n

  • New Family Zone (Silver equivalent) tickets at $12.50 per seat (plus applicable taxes and fees), representing a 58% reduction from last season’s single-game pricing<\/li>\n
  • New weekday tickets starting at just $12.25 (plus applicable taxes and fees), representing a 50% reduction from last year’s pricing<\/li>\n
  • Single-game ticket prices reduced by 15% across all seating categories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The new ticketing structure is designed to make Pats hockey more accessible for every type of fan. Families can now access dedicated Family Zone seating at a fraction of last season’s cost, while new weekday walk-up pricing creates one of the most affordable entry points to a Pats game. Combined with reduced single-game pricing across all seating categories, the changes create more opportunities for fans to experience Regina Pats hockey throughout the season.<\/p>\n

    For fans looking to make Pats hockey part of their season, season ticket renewals for the 2026-27 season will be available Aug.4, 2026.<\/p>\n

    The Regina Pats are also excited to announce two significant new additions to every season ticket package this season. Each seat now comes with a $170 food and beverage credit, delivered as a $5 credit for every regular season home game. Additionally, pre-season games are now included, all with no increase to the base price of the tickets. That means up to 30% additional value for season ticket members next season.<\/p>\n

    If you are looking to get in on the action for the first time as a new Season Ticket Member, tickets will go on sale on Aug. 17, 2026, and fans can score packages for as low as $17.26\/game (plus applicable taxes and fees) Making Pats hockey more accessible is only one part of the long-term vision. As Brandt Sports & Entertainment begins operating the Brandt Centre, the focus extends beyond ticket pricing to the overall fan experience. The organization is committed to both short-term improvements and long-term investments that will enhance the facility for fans, players, and staff.<\/p>\n

    As previously announced, Brandt Sports & Entertainment committed $10 million in capital investment toward the future of the Brandt Centre. This investment is separate from the ongoing maintenance and operational requirements of the facility. With the organization now assuming operation of the facility, fans will begin to see the first phase of that vision take shape ahead of the 2026-27 season with construction scheduled to start at the end of this 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n

    Planned enhancements include:<\/p>\n

    • Upgraded mechanical systems throughout the facility<\/li>\n
    • Enhanced security measures in the Brandt Centre and the rest of the District<\/li>\n
    • Updated food and beverage offerings, including specialty items and returning fan-favourite game-day promotions.<\/li>\n
    • Upper bowl power ring LEDs and first-in-Canada LED rink boards<\/li>\n
    • An upgraded arena sound system<\/li>\n
    • Enhanced lighting designed to elevate game presentation and atmosphere<\/li>\n
    • Bowl seating improvements and expanded premium viewing options<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      LED rink boards and power rings were originally explored for this season, but with the REAL deal anticipated to close on Sept. 1, 2026, installation is now scheduled to begin following the conclusion of the 2026-27 Pats season.<\/p>\n

      “This season is about taking meaningful first steps,”<\/strong> <\/em>said Gord Pritchard, CEO, Regina Pats. “Our goal this season is to get more fans in the building and provide a better experience when they get there. We’ve made Pats hockey more accessible, started investing in the Brandt Centre and established a clear path forward for the future of both the team and the facility.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

      “There’s real risk in what we’re doing here. Putting more than $10 million into a facility while lowering the price of admission isn’t something most ownership groups would do,”<\/strong> <\/em>concluded Semple. “But it’s what has to be done. If we want this place to be a gathering place for our kids and grandkids, not just this season but for years to come, doing nothing is simply not an option. We have a responsibility to keep investing in it, improving it and planning for its future.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

      Regina, Sask. \u2013<\/strong> The Regina Pats announced today they have traded 2007-born defenceman Jonas Kohn to the Victoria Royals in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2030 WHL Prospects Draft (via Kelowna).<\/p>\n

      Kohn, 19, appeared in 39 games during his rookie WHL season in 2025-26, recording one goal and three assists for four points while adding 49 penalty minutes and a minus-nine rating.<\/p>\n

      The 6-foot-4, 212-pound left-shot defenceman joined the Pats after signing with the Club in September 2025 following training camp as a free-agent invite. Prior to beginning his WHL career, the Stillwater, Minn. product starred at Stillwater High School during the 2024-25 season, registering 31 points (five goals, 26 assists) in 30 games.<\/p>\n

      Regina, Sask.<\/strong> \u2013 The Regina Pats announced today that the hockey club has signed defenceman Ossi Tukio<\/strong> to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

      Tukio, 18, was selected by the Pats in the first round (18th overall) of the 2026 CHL Import Draft.<\/p>\n

      The 6-foot-2, 187-pound left-shot defenceman from Tampere, Finland, spent the 2025-26 season captaining Ilves’ U20 team in Finland’s U20 SM-sarja. Tukio recorded 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 34 regular-season games, helping lead Ilves to a second-place finish while ranking second among all draft-eligible defencemen in league scoring.<\/p>\n

      Hockey has been a part of Tukio’s life from the very beginning. He grew up around professional dressing rooms as the son of former Finnish defenceman Arto Tukio, who enjoyed a lengthy professional career spanning nearly two decades. Arto appeared in approximately 500 games across Finland’s Liiga while also spending time with Jokerit and Ilves before playing two seasons with Fr\u00f6lunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), where he captured a Swedish championship in 2005. A fourth-round selection (101st overall) of the New York Islanders in the 2000 NHL Draft, Arto remained in Europe throughout his professional career.<\/p>\n

      “We’re very excited to sign Ossi to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement,” said Pats General Manager Dale Derkatch. “He is a defenceman with strong offensive instincts who likes to join the rush and create scoring opportunities for both himself and his teammates.       Regina, Sask.<\/strong> \u2013 The Regina Pats are proud to announce that forwards Maddox Schultz<\/strong> and Liam Pue<\/strong> have been named to Hockey Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team selection camp ahead of the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup<\/strong>, which will be held Aug. 3-9 in Edmonton, Alta.<\/p>\n

      Schultz and Pue are among the 27 players invited to camp and are the only two 2010-born players selected to attend.<\/p>\n

      Schultz, 16, enjoyed a standout rookie campaign with the Pats in 2025-26, recording 29 points (15G-14A) in 34 games. The Regina product also dominated at the U18 level with the Regina Pat Canadians, posting 60 points (30G-30A) in 21 regular season games before helping lead the club to a SMAAAHL championship and Western Regional title with 20 points (12G-8A) in 11 playoff and regional games. Internationally, Schultz represented Canada at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, finishing with nine points (6G-3A) in five games.<\/p>\n

      Pue, 16, collected 16 points (6G-10A) in 34 games during his rookie season with the Pats. The Langley, B.C. product also starred alongside Schultz with the Regina Pat Canadians, registering 48 points (16G-32A) in 21 regular season contests before totaling 18 points (7G-11A) in 11 playoff and regional games en route to league and regional championships. Pue also represented Canada White at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, recording eight points (4G-4A) in five games.<\/p>\n

      Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team selection camp will run from July 27 to Aug. 1 at NAIT Arena and Rogers Place in Edmonton. The camp roster includes three goaltenders, nine defencemen and 15 forwards.<\/p>\n

      As part of camp, Canada will face Sweden on July 30 before taking on Czechia on Aug. 1 in pre-tournament action. The final roster for the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup will be announced prior to the tournament.<\/p>\n

      Of the 27 players invited, 25 represented Canada Red or Canada White at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, one won a bronze medal at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, and one competed for Canada at the 2026 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship.<\/p>\n

      Regina, Sask.<\/strong> \u2013 The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Samuel Karsay<\/strong> to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

      Karsay, 18, was selected by the Pats in the third round (146th overall) of the 2026 CHL Import Draft. The 6-foot-1, 179-pound left winger from Ilava, Slovakia, split the 2025-26 season between HK Spartak Dubnica in Slovakia’s second division and HK Dukla Tren\u010d\u00edn U20. In 11 games with Tren\u010d\u00edn’s U20 club, the 2008-born forward registered seven points (four goals, three assists).<\/p>\n

      Karsay was also ranked 63rd among European skaters by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft. On the international stage, Karsay represented Slovakia at the 2026 IIHF U18 World Championship, helping his country earn a silver medal.<\/p>\n

      “We’re very excited to see Samuel in a Pats uniform very soon,” said Regina Pats General Manager Dale Derkatch. “He’s a competitive two-way forward who plays with a lot of pace and has a knack for creating offense around the net. We believe he has the tools to make an impact in our lineup, and we’re looking forward to helping him continue his development in Regina.”<\/p>\n

      Regina, Sask.<\/strong> \u2013 The Regina Pats are proud to announce that prospects Logan Henry<\/strong> and Cruz Nicolay<\/strong> have been invited to Hockey Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp<\/strong>, taking place July 17-21 at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville, Ontario.<\/p>\n

      Henry and Nicolay are among 80 of the country’s top under-17 players invited to attend the five-day camp, which features eight goaltenders, 24 defencemen and 48 forwards. All 80 players have been selected in the Canadian Hockey League Draft, including 29 players from the Western Hockey League.<\/p>\n

      “We’re very excited to see two of our prospects, Logan Henry and Cruz Nicolay, earn invitations to Hockey Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp,” said Regina Pats General Manager Dale Derkatch<\/strong>. “It’s a testament to the hard work, commitment and dedication they’ve shown throughout their hockey careers. This is a tremendous opportunity for both players to compete against the top talent in their age group from across the country, and we’re excited to see how they perform and continue their development.”<\/p>\n

      Henry, 15, spent the 2025-26 season with Burnaby Winter Club U18 Prep, recording eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in 27 regular-season games. The Prince George, B.C. product elevated his game in the postseason, tallying six points (1G-5A) in five playoff contests. The 5-foot-10, 187-pound forward also represented Team British Columbia at the WHL Cup, where he was named Game MVP against Team Manitoba and helped his province capture a silver medal after posting four points (3G-1A). Henry added two goals at the Circle K Classic before being selected by the Pats 23rd overall in the first round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/p>\n

      Nicolay, 16, suited up for Calgary IHA U18 Prep during the 2025-26 campaign, collecting three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 27 games while ranking second among team defencemen in goals and third in points. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound blueliner also appeared in five games at the Circle K Classic, made two AJHL appearances with the Drayton Valley Thunder, and made his WHL debut with the Pats on March 14 against the Prince Albert Raiders. The Rocky Mountain House, Alta. native recorded his first WHL point with an assist in Regina’s regular-season finale in Brandon. Nicolay was selected 27th overall by the Pats in the first round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/p>\n

      Players will be divided into four teams for the development camp, which includes two days of practices followed by six games from July 19-21.<\/p>\n

      Regina, Sask. \u2013<\/strong> The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Tomas Cermak<\/strong> to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

      Cermak, 18, was selected by the Pats in the second round (85th overall) of the 2026 CHL Import Draft. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound left-shot defenceman from Plze\u0148, Czechia, spent the 2025-26 season with BK Mlad\u00e1 Boleslav U20 in the Czech U20 league, tallying five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 48 games. Cermak was also ranked 82nd among European skaters by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

      “We’re very excited to get Tomas signed to a WHL Standard Player Education and Development Agreement,” said Regina Pats General Manager Dale Derkatch. “I’m really looking forward to seeing Tomas in a Pats sweater as we feel he has the tools to be a dependable two-way defenceman for our squad.”<\/p>\n

      Cermak becomes the latest addition to the Pats’ growing young core as the Club continues preparations for the 2026-27 WHL season.<\/p>\n
