Regina, Sask. – <\/strong>The Regina Pats are pleased to announce their scouting staff for the 2026-27 Western Hockey League season, featuring a blend of returning scouts taking on expanded responsibilities and several new additions from across the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Regina Pats\u2019 scouting staff combines extensive playing, coaching and scouting experience, with regional coverage across Western Canada and key hockey markets in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mark Kolesar \u2014 Manitoba Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Mark Kolesar has been with the Regina Pats since Fall of 2019, serving as the club\u2019s Manitoba Regional Scout. He brings a wealth of hockey experience to the role, having played professionally from 1994 to 2004. Kolesar spent two seasons in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1995 to 1997, with the remainder of his playing career taking him through the minor leagues and various professional leagues in Europe. His extensive playing background and knowledge of the game provide valuable insight in his role as a regional scout.<\/span><\/p>\n

Andrew Archer \u2014 Alberta Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Andrew Archer is entering his third season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Alberta Regional Scout. Archer brings a strong playing background to his scouting role, having spent his junior hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League. In 2001, he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens and went on to play with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Now based in Edmonton with his family, Archer continues to draw on his playing experience and knowledge of the game in evaluating and identifying emerging hockey talent throughout Alberta.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cole Shepherd \u2014 Saskatchewan Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Cole Shepherd is entering his fifth season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Saskatchewan Regional Scout. Shepherd brings valuable experience in player evaluation and development to his role, highlighted by his time as General Manager of the Saskatoon Blazers of the SMAAAHL U18 league. During his tenure, the Blazers established themselves as a successful program, capturing league championships. His experience identifying and developing young talent provides a strong foundation for his continued work scouting players throughout Saskatchewan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rob Gallamore \u2014 British Columbia Regional Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Rob Gallamore is entering his second consecutive season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s British Columbia Regional Scout. Gallamore is no stranger to the organization, having previously worked with the Pats from 2013 to 2019. His familiarity with the club, combined with his dedication and commitment to player evaluation, makes him a valuable addition to the scouting staff. Gallamore\u2019s willingness to put in the time and effort required to be in rinks across British Columbia provides the Pats with an important presence in the region and a strong connection to emerging talent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rhett Gordon \u2014 U.S. (Colorado Area Scout)<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Rhett Gordon is entering his sixth season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Colorado Area Scout. A proud Pats alumnus, Gordon played for the organization from 1992 to 1996, giving him a unique connection to the club and its history. Gordon brings a strong understanding of player development and the game to his scouting role. He currently serves as the Director of Northern Colorado Youth Hockey, where he continues to be actively involved in the development of young players. His experience both as a former Pats player and as a leader in youth hockey makes him a valuable member of the club\u2019s scouting staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jason Ulmer \u2014 U.S. (North Dakota Area Scout)<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Jason Ulmer is entering his first season with the Regina Pats and will play a pivotal role in the club\u2019s player identification efforts in the United States. A Saskatchewan native from Wilcox, Ulmer developed his game with the Notre Dame Hounds before continuing his playing career at the University of North Dakota. He went on to play professionally in the American Hockey League and spent more than a decade playing in Europe. Following his playing career, Ulmer returned to the University of North Dakota as a volunteer coach, further expanding his experience in player development and evaluation. His extensive playing and coaching background will be a valuable asset to the Pats as they continue to identify and evaluate talent throughout the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sean Fish \u2014 U.S. (Minnesota Regional Scout)<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Sean Fish is entering his first season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Minnesota Regional Scout. He brings an extensive background in player evaluation, with scouting experience across the North American Hockey League, High School Hockey, and the United States Hockey League. His familiarity with the Minnesota hockey landscape and experience evaluating players at multiple levels will be a valuable asset to the Pats. Sean currently coaches High School Hockey in Minneapolis, keeping him closely connected to the region and its emerging talent. His knowledge, experience, and strong presence in the hockey community will play an important role in identifying and evaluating players throughout Minnesota.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dale McMullin \u2014 Head Scout<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Dale McMullin is entering his 15th season with the Regina Pats as the club\u2019s Head Scout. Throughout his tenure, Dale has played a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating talent for the organization. His dedication, work ethic, and communication skills have made him a trusted resource for players, families, agents, and advisors. Edmonton, Alta.<\/strong> \u2013 Regina Pats forwards Maddox Schultz and Liam Pue helped Canada capture gold at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in dominant fashion Saturday, combining for six points in an 8-1 victory over the United States in the gold medal game.<\/p>\n

Schultz and Pue each recorded two goals and an assist in the championship game, powering Canada to its 31st medal at the annual summer under-18 tournament and its 26th gold medal.<\/p>\n

The two Pats forwards were among Canada’s most dangerous offensive players throughout the tournament, finishing with the two highest point totals by U17 Canadians in Hlinka Gretzky Cup history.<\/p>\n

Pue led the tournament with six goals, while Schultz finished with 10 points, tying for the tournament lead in scoring.<\/p>\n

Canada opened the tournament with a 7-3 win over Switzerland before defeating Slovakia 6-1 and Sweden 7-4 to finish first in Group A. Canada then advanced to the gold medal game with a 6-3 semifinal victory over Finland.<\/p>\n

The gold-medal performance capped an impressive summer for both Pats forwards, who were the only two 2010-born players invited to Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team training camp ahead of the tournament.<\/p>\n

Schultz, 16, is coming off a standout rookie season with the Pats, recording 29 points (15G-14A) in 34 games during the 2025-26 WHL campaign. The Regina product also dominated at the U18 level with the Regina Pat Canadians, producing 60 points (30G-30A) in 21 regular-season games. Schultz continued his strong play into the postseason, recording 20 points (12G-8A) in 11 playoff and regional games while helping the Pat Canadians capture both the SMAAAHL championship and Western Regional title.<\/p>\n

His success on the international stage is nothing new. Schultz represented Canada at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he recorded nine points (6G-3A) in five games. His 10 points at this year’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup established Schultz as one of Canada’s premier offensive performers and added another significant achievement to his already impressive resume.<\/p>\n

Pue, 16, also enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign in Regina, registering 16 points (6G-10A) in 34 games with the Pats. The Langley, B.C. product was equally productive with the Regina Pat Canadians, recording 48 points (16G-32A) in 21 regular-season games before adding 18 points (7G-11A) in 11 playoff and regional contests. Like Schultz, Pue played a key role in the Pat Canadians’ run to SMAAAHL and Western Regional championships.<\/p>\n

Pue also returned to the international stage after representing Canada White at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he posted eight points (4G-4A) in five games. At the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, Pue’s six goals led the entire tournament, while his nine points ranked among the event’s top offensive totals.<\/p>\n

The performances from Schultz and Pue marked a historic tournament for the Regina Pats. With Schultz recording 10 points and Pue nine, the two forwards posted the highest point totals by U17 Canadians in Hlinka Gretzky Cup history. Their performances also helped Canada cruise through the tournament, outscoring its opponents by a combined 34-12 over five games.<\/p>\n

REGINA, SK<\/strong> \u2013 The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced a series of changes for the 2026-27 season designed to make Pats hockey more affordable for families, deliver greater value for fans, and begin a new chapter for the Brandt Centre.<\/p>\n

The announcement includes reduced single-game ticket pricing, new weekday pricing, the introduction of a Family Zone, season ticket renewals, and the first phase of a long-term plan to enhance the fan experience at the Brandt Centre.<\/p>\n

While Brandt Sports & Entertainment has proudly owned the Regina Pats for years, the 2026-27 season marks the first year the organization will also manage and operate the Brandt Centre. With the REAL Deal expected to close on September 1st<\/span>, the Pats and Brandt Sports & Entertainment, as a whole, are now able to look at ticket options with an entirely new approach. Bringing the team and facility together under one vision creates a new environment where all parties can remain focused on improving every aspect of the fan experience \u2014 from ticketing and concessions to facility enhancements and long-term investments.<\/p>\n
