TRADE: Pats Acquire Austin Pratt from the Red Deer Rebels
The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce they have acquired 18-year-old forward Austin Pratt from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a third round pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.
Pratt (6’3, 205) is playing in his third season in the Western Hockey League. So far this season, the Lakeville, Minnesota product has scored seven goals and has nine assists for 16 points in 39 games. Over his 165 game career, Pratt has put up 31 goals and 31 assists. His best season came in 2016-17 when he scored 16 goals and had 34 points in 70 games.
“Pratt brings size and scoring potential to our team,” said Pats Head Coach and GM John Paddock. “He had a real good year as a 17-year-old in this league and he is going to help our hockey team going forward”
Pratt was originally a fourth round pick by the Rebels in 2014. He represented Team USA at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Championship, winning a silver medal.
The third round pick the Pats send to Red Deer in the trade was originally acquired by Regina from the Rebels in the Josh Mahura deal.
