Six Pats Alumni battling in Calder Cup Playoffs
Regina, Sask. – The Calder Cup American Hockey League Playoffs begin this week, with six Pats alumni listed on playoff rosters.
Dryden Hunt | Calgary Wranglers (Calgary Flames)
Hunt, 29, had 49 points (16G-33A) in 49 games with the Calgary Wranglers during the 2024-25 season. He was also called up for five games with the Calgary Flames (0G-3A) after posting eight points (3G-5A) in 28 games with Calgary last season. The Wranglers will take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the opening round after finishing fifth in the Pacific Division with 81 points.
The Cranbrook, BC product played for the Pats from 2011-2015, recording 97 points in 163 games.
Cameron Hebig | Tucson Roadrunners (Utah Hockey Club)
Hebig, 28, tallied 47 points (26G-21A) in 67 games with the Tucson Roadrunners in 2024-25, marking his fourth full season with the team. The Roadrunners will finished seventh in the Pacific with 74 points, and will take on the Abbotsford Canucks in round one.
Hebig was acquired by the Pats during the 2017-18 season where he tallied 32 points (11G-21A) in 26 games. He then recorded eight points (6G-2A) in seven playoff games as well as six points (4G-2A) in five Memorial Cup contests.
Cale Fleury | Coachella Valley Firebirds (Seattle Kraken)
Fleury, 26, recorded 26 points (7G-19A) in 39 games with the Firebirds this past season. The Calgary, Alta. product also played in 14 games with the Seattle Kraken, picking up one assist. The 6-foot-1, 212 lb. defenceman helped Coachella Valley to a fourth place finish in the Pacific with 37 wins and 84 points. His Club will take on the Calgary Wranglers in round one.
Fleury played 51 games for the Pats during the 2017-18 season, finishing with 41 points (6G-35A).
Stanislav Svozil | Cleveland Monsters (Columbus Blue Jackets)
Svozil, 22, appeared in 63 games with the Cleveland Monsters, picking up a AHL career-high 24 points (4G-20A). The Monsters finished fifth in the North Division with 81 points, and will take on the Toronto Marlies in round one.
The Prerov, Czechia product had 78 points (11G-67A) in 56 games with the Pats in 2022-23, as well as 13 points (4G-9A) in seven playoff games. His 78 points was the 10th-highest single season point total by a Pats defenceman in franchise history.
Austin Wagner | Chicago Wolves (Carolina Hurricanes)
Wagner, 27, finished the 2024-25 season with 18 points (9G-9A) in 62 games with the Wolves. The Wolves had 37 wins and 78 points which placed them in fourth in the Central Division. They will take on Rockford IceHogs in round one.
The Calgary, Alta. product played for the Pats from 2012-2017, recording 169 points (79G-90A) in 238 career WHL games. Wagner led the 2017 WHL Playoffs with 16 goals.
Borya Valis | Toronto Marlies
Valis, 21, was recently signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs, and has joined the Toronto Marlies after the Prince George Cougars were eliminated from the WHL Playoffs.
The Denver, Colorado product played two regular season games with the Marlies after recording 80 points (34G-46A) in 66 games this past season with the Cougars. Valis was dealt to Prince George in December of last season for a pair of picks and Tyson Buczkowski. He played for the Pats from 2021-2024, recording 106 points in 147 games.
