PREVIEW: Regina takes aim at three in a row
REGINA – Looking for their first three-game win streak inside the Subway WHL Hub, the Regina Pats are back in action Thursday night against the Swift Current Broncos.
Regina skates into the night coming off wins over the Prince Albert Raiders and Saskatoon Blades. Those victories, which came via 4-3 and 4-2 score lines respectively, marked the third time this season the Pats won back-to-back games.

Those previous streaks ended with losses, as the Broncos now stand between the Pats and their longest stint in the win column this season.
So far this season the Broncos have been a good matchup for the Pats, who enter the night 3-0-0-0 against the Speedy Creek Crew. After a tight meeting the first time against the Broncos, a 3-2 win back on March 17, Regina combined to outscore Swift 15-5 in their last two meetings.
Those two lopsided games of 9-4 and 6-1 featured Connor Bedard, who had four points both nights. Bedard, who hit the ice Wednesday night for his first practice with Canada ahead of the U18 World Championship, won’t be in the lineup this time around.

Luckily for the Pats they’ve filled the offensive void left by their exceptional rookie the last two games with a pair of four-goal performances. Among those driving the offence has been Ryker Evans. The 19-year-old defencemen enters the night with a 10-game point streak. Evans is now just four points back of Bedard for the team lead in that category and is one point back of the WHL’s defencemen scoring lead (25 – Cole Clayton, Medicine Hat).
