PREVIEW
The Regina Pats wrap up their six game season series with an afternoon contest with the Saskatoon Blades. These two teams last met on Tuesday in Regina, with the Blades skating away with a 6-3 victory. The Pats are now 1-3-1 against the Blades this season.
Julien Maze has tallied five points (1G-4A) versus Saskatoon this season while Caden Brown has four points (3G-1A). Zach Moore has three points (2G-1A) against his former team. Meanwhile, Tyler Parr leads the season series with eight points (3G-5A) and Grayden Siepmann has six points (1G-5A) against Regina this season.
The Pats are coming off a tough 7-5 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday, scoring five or more goals in a game for the first time since February 14, and for the seventh total time this season.
The Pats did show a lot of fight in their game, overcoming a handful of two goal deficits before making it a 4-4 game after 40 minutes. Zach Pantelakis (2G), Jace Egland (1G-1A), Kolten Bridgeman (2A), Sam Failler (2A) and Cameron Kuzma (2A) had multi-point games. The final shots 43-30 for the Broncos. The Pats were 0-3 on their power play while the Broncos were 3-7 on their power play.
The Saskatoon Blades bounced back from a 5-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings with a 3-0 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Friday at the InnovationPlex. Evan Gardner made 22 saves for his second shutout of the season. Cooper Williams finished the night with three points (1G-2A) while Jack Kachkowski and Hunter Laing added singles.
The shots were 27-22 for Saskatoon who improved to 3-1 over their last four games. The Blades were 1-4 on their power play and 2-2 on their penalty kill.
WHO TO WATCH
Julien Maze increased his lead as the Pats top scorer with an assist last night, giving him 43 points (12G-31A) in 61 games this season. The Edmonton product now has six points (2G-4A) over his last six games. Meanwhile, Zach Pantelakis scored twice last night for his first multi-goal game of his career.
COMING UP
The Regina Pats rematch the Swift Current Broncos on Tuesday at the Brandt Centre. The Regiment will then play their final two games of the season with a home-and-home against Brandon next weekend.
