PREVIEW: Pats play Rebels for fourth and final time

PREVIEW
The Regina Pats play the fourth and final game against the Red Deer Rebels this season, with Regina leading the season series 2-1. The last time these two teams met was on Jan. 31 at the Brandt Centre, with the Pats dropping a tight 3-0 contest.
Today’s game also marks the first game of four games in five nights this week – which is Regina’s final overnight road trip of the season. After this week, nine of the Pats final 14 games will be played on home ice.
The Pats are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday at the SaskTel Centre, falling to 1-2-1 against the Blades this season. The Pats were tied up at 1-1 early in the first before going down 3-1 after one, and 5-1 after two.
Ashton Brown scored his first with the Pats while Caden Brown and Reese Hamilton added third period goals to make it a two goal game. Ewan Huet made 25 saves in the loss. The shots were 30-25 for the Blades. Both teams were 0-2 on their power plays.
Meanwhile, the Red Deer Rebels had their three game winning-streak come to an end with a 4-0 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday at home. The Hurricanes outshot the Rebels 28-25, and went 3-5 on their power play. Chase Wutzke got the start, allowing all four goals on 28 shots. The Rebels were shutout for the sixth time this season.
Red Deer is now 3-1 in their last four games, outscoring their opponents 10-to-6.
WHO TO WATCH
Zachary Lansard had a goal and an assist in two games this past weekend. The 16-year-old forward from St. Anne, Manitoba now has 16 points (6G-10A) in 40 games this season, with eight of those points coming in his last 13 games.
COMING UP
The Regina Pats will return home on Feb. 19 when they host Tanner Howe and the Calgary Hitmen. Wednesday, the Pats play the second game of their four game Alberta road trip as they take on the Edmonton Oil Kings. The Pats will finish the trip with contests against Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.
