The 2024-25 season comes to a close tonight at the Brandt Centre as the Pats play the Wheat Kings for the eighth time this season.
The Wheat Kings defeated the Pats 7-3 on Friday at Westoba Place. Joby Baumuller (2G-1A), Jaxon Jacobson (1G-2A) and Quinn Mantei (3A) led the way with three point games while Carson Bjarnason made 33 saves in the victory. Marcus Nguyen tallied two goals, and Matteo Michels finished with two points (1G-1A).
Caden Brown (1G-1A), Zach Pantelakis and Ephram McNutt scored goals for the Pats while Ewan Huet made 36 saves in his final game with the Pats. The final shots were 43-36 for the Wheat Kings. The Pats were 1-4 on their power play and 2-3 on their penalty kill.
WHO TO WATCH
For the Pats, Caden Brown searches for his 20th goal of the season tonight. The Fort St. John, BC product has tallied five points (3G-2A) over his last five games, and picked up his 19th of the season on Friday in Brandon. His 19 goals, 17 assists and 36 points are a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Luke Shipley is one of the hottest defencemen in the WHL right now. After scoring his 19th goal of the season last night, the Powell River, BC product has now scored in five straight games (5G-4A-9PTS).
COMING UP
The Regina Pats will prepare for the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft Lottery in the next few weeks, and then will get ready for the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft in May. The Pats will then host their 2025 Spring Development Camp in late May/early June.
