Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats are back in action tonight at 7:00 p.m., as they host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Indigenous Celebration Night.

The Regina Pats will be wearing the special-edition orange jerseys for the entire game as Saturday’s game will showcase Indigenous Culture throughout the night and acknowledge the relationship we share with all Indigenous peoples in the Treaty Four Territory.

The Pats are 19-26-4-2 this season with 44 points, currently in 10th in the Eastern Conference with 17 games left in the season. The Pats are seven points out of the eighth and final playoff spot. The Oil Kings are 16-31-2-1 this season with 35 points and are 11th in the East.
The Pats picked up a big two points on Wednesday in Calgary, defeating the Hitmen 5-3. The Pats tied their season-high for goals in a period, scoring four in the opening frame, leading to their 19th win and fifth on the road. The Pats got a three point effort from Tanner Howe (1G-2A) and 38 saves from Ewan Huet, with 13 of them in the third period, leading to his 10th victory as well as wins in back-to-back starts.
Additionally, Sam Oremba (1G-1A), Zach Moore and Tye Spencer (2A) had multi-point games, while Anthony Wilson and Jaxsin Vaughan rounded out the scoring. The shots were 41-34 for the Hitmen. The Pats went 3-7 on their power play and 2-3 on their penalty kill.
The Pats have now grabbed points in six of their last 11 road games and have a 3-0 season series lead over the Hitmen with the final meeting set for Feb. 19.
The Edmonton Oil Kings are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Friday, and have now lost their last six games (0-5-1-0), having been outscored 34-to-13 over that stretch.
On Friday in Swift Current, Edmonton got their only goal from Gracyn Shawchyn while Hudson Perry made the start, allowing four goals on 27 shots. The final shots were 27-26 for the Broncos. The Oil Kings finished 1-2 on their power play and 2-2 on their penalty kill.
The Oil Kings last win came on January 28, defeating Brandon 5-4. Edmonton is coming off a 10-54-4-0 season with 24 points, finishing last in the WHL. Their 10 victories were the lowest in franchise history.
