WHAT’S HAPPENING
Tonight’s St. Patrick’s Day contest is presented by Brandt, as the first 2000 fans into the Brandt Centre will receive a thunder stick to wave throughout the game, and show your support! GAME PREVIEW
The Regina Pats take on the Swift Current Broncos in the fifth of six meetings this season with Regina 2-2-0 against Swift Current in the season set. The Pats last played the Broncos on February 21, winning 4-1 on the road. Zach Moore (2G-2A) and John Babcock (1G-3A) each have four points against the Broncos this season. Meanwhile, Broncos captain Clarke Caswell leads the season series with five points (1G-4A). Luke Mistelbacher has four points (2G-2A) against the Pats in 2024-25.
The Pats are coming off their seventh straight loss on Tuesday, falling to the Saskatoon Blades 6-3 at the Brandt Centre. It was three late first period goals for the Blades that lifted them to victory. The Pats got goals from Julien Maze (1G-1A), Caden Brown and Zachary Lansard, as well as 25 saves from Ewan Huet. The Pats were 1-2 on their power play and 3-4 on their penalty kill. The shots were 31-31.
Meanwhile, the Broncos dropped their third straight content on Friday, falling 3-0 to the Saskatoon Blades at home. The Broncos were shutout for the second time this season as Evan Gardner made 22 saves. Joey Rocha got the start for the Broncos, allowing two goals on 26 shots. The Blades were 1-4 on their power play and 2-2 on the penalty kill.
WHO TO WATCH
Matt Paranych and Julien Maze are on a roll as of late. Paranych has points in four straight contests, with five points during that stretch. Meanwhile, Maze has tallied five points (2G-3A) over his last five games.
COMING UP
The Regina Pats travel to Saskatoon and take on the Blades at the SaskTel Centre on Sunday, March 16 at 4pm. The Pats will then rematch the Swift Current Broncos on Tuesday at the Brandt Centre. The Regiment will then play their final two games of the season with a home-and-home against Brandon next weekend.
