PREVIEW
The Regina Pats end their eight game season series with the Warriors tonight at the Brandt Centre. The Pats are 2-4-1 against the Warriors this season, with both their victories coming in overtime.
Caden Brown (3G-2A) and Zach Pantelakis (3G-2A) lead the Pats with five points (3G-2A) against the Warriors, while John Babcock has five assists. Aiden Ziprick has 10 points (2G-8A) against Regina this season, while Luke Moroz has seven points (1G-6A).
These two teams last met on Friday inside the Moose Jaw Events Centre, with Moose Jaw slipping past Regina 3-2 in regulation. Both teams traded goals through 40 minutes of play before Moose Jaw took the lead in the third period. Matthew Hutchison was the key in net, making 36 saves. Meanwhile, Ewan Huet kept the Pats within striking distance with 21 saves.
Zach Moore and Cameron Kuzma scored for Regina. Brady Ness (GWG), Nolan Paquette and Max Finley scored for the Warriors. Regina outshot Moose Jaw 38-24. The Pats were 1-5 on their power play and 3-3 on their penalty kill.
WHO TO WATCH
Zach Moore has the hot stick for the Pats, scoring in each of his last two games after he broke a 10 game goalless drought on Tuesday in Prince Albert. The Saskatoon product now has 12 goals and 20 points this season, setting career-highs in both of those categories.
Lynden Lakovic continues to add points for the Warriors. With an assist last night, the top NHL Draft prospect has four points (2G-2A) in his last two games, as well as a team leading 49 points (22G-27A) in 40 games this season.
COMING UP
The Pats will play the same four teams in their last four games. The Regiment will take on the Saskatoon Blades on Tuesday, March 11 at the Brandt Centre. The Pats will then take on the Swift Current Broncos on Mar. 15 at home and Saskatoon Blades on Mar. 16 on the road. The Pats will then host Swift Current on Tuesday, March 18.
