PREVIEW
The Regina Pats play the second game of eight straight away from the Queen City, taking on the Raiders in the fourth of eight meetings this season.
The Pats have had their last four games finish with a 4-3 decision. Friday, the Pats fell 4-3 to the Swift Current Broncos. Connor Bear, Keets Fawcett and Zach Moore scored for Regina while Ewan Huet made 30 saves. The final shot count was 34-27 for the Broncos. The Pats were 2-3 on their power play and 4-6 on their penalty kill.
The Prince Albert Raiders had their four game winning-streak end on Wednesday with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers at the Art Hauser Centre. Aiden Oiring and Krzysztof Macias scored for Prince Albert while Max Hildebrand made 52 saves. The shots were 55-28 for Medicine Hat. The Tigers were 0-4 on their power play while the Raiders were 1-4 on their power play.
WHO TO WATCH
For the Pats, Keets Fawcett scored his first as a member of the Regiment on Friday in Swift Current. Three Pats players made their debut on Friday which included Reese Hamilton and Zach Pantelakis.
Fawcett tallied 45 points (19G-26A) in 65 games last season which was sixth on the Calgary Hitmen in scoring, and top 20 amongst players in his age group. He broke out in the second half for Calgary, recording 28 of his 45 points (12G-16A) after January 1.
For the Raiders, Tomas Mrsic has been deadly as of late as he recently took home the WHL Player of the Week award, recording five goals in two games. The Surrey, B.C., product leads the WHL in power play goals (9) and power play points (17). This season, the St. Louis Blues prospect has 25 points (13G-12A) in 17 games.
COMING UP
The Regina Pats head on the road for six straight away from the Queen City next week. On Friday, the Pats will take on the Kamloops Blazers before taking on the Kelowna Rockets on Saturday. The Pats are back home on December 13.
