PREVIEW: Pats Continue U.S. Road Trip In Kennewick
Kennewick, WA. – The Regina Pats continue their U.S. road trip today when they take on the Tri-City Americans with puck drop set for 6:05 pacific time (9:05 Sask. time) at the Toyota Center.

The Regina Pats are 21-30-4-2 on the season with 48 points, 10th in the East and seven points back of the final playoff spot with 11 games left in the season.
The Pats are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Spokane Chiefs on Friday to begin their six game U.S. road trip. Braxton Whitehead (1G-1A) extended his point-streak (2G-9A) to seven games while Tanner Howe chipped in with two helpers. Tye Spencer scored for a second straight game and Ewan Huet made 31 saves in the loss. The final shots on Friday were 36-21 for Spokane. The Pats went 1-5 on their power play and 4-6 on their penalty kill.
The Tri-City Americans are 21-32-2-1 on the season with 45 points which is ninth in the Western Conference, eight points back of the final playoff spot which is held by the Spokane Chiefs.
The Americans are coming off a 9-4 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday for their third straight loss. Parker Bell had a night to remember, picking up the hat-trick. Thomas Tien also scored for the Americans in the loss while both goaltender split action. Lucas Matecha got the start, allowing six goals on 20 shots through 29:45. Kyle Kelsey allowed three goals on 14 shots in 30:15 in relief. The final shots were 34-27 for the Warriors. The Americans were 1-5 on their power play and 0-2 on their penalty kill.
Prior to their three game skid, the Americans had won their previous two games, defeating Seattle (2-1) and Spokane (6-3). Tri-City is now 4-5 in the month of February and are eight points back of the final playoff spot in the West with 12 games left.

The Pats and Americans meet for the first time since October 30, 2022, with the Pats winning that battle 7-3 at the Brandt Centre. The last time the Pats were in Kennewick, WA to take on the Americans was on January 11, 2020 with Tri-City winning 5-4 in regulation. The Americans have won three of the last five meetings against the Pats dating back to the 2016-17 season.
