PREVIEW: Pats Begin U.S. Road Trip In Spokane
Spokane, WA. – The Regina Pats begin their six game U.S. road trip today against the Spokane Chiefs with puck drop set for 9:05 p.m., local time.

The Pats head south of the border since the 2019-20 season, and enter today’s action with a 21-29-4-2 record and 48 points, which is seven points back of the eighth and final playoff spot.
That playoff spot is held by the Lethbridge Hurricanes with 55 points
The Pats broke a three game skid on Monday with a 6-0 win over the Calgary Hitmen, taking the season series sweep, 4-0. Ewan Huet made 38 saves with 17 of them in the third period for his first career shutout and the Pats first shutout win since November 25, 2022 when Regina defeated Vancouver 3-0.
Tanner Howe led the way with a season-high four points (1G-3A), while Tye Spencer reached the 20 goal mark with two goals today. Zach Moore opened the scoring early in the first, while Jaxsin Vaughan (1G-1A) and Logan Peskett rounded out the scoring, and Braxton Whitehead chipped in with two assists.
The Pats scored a season-high five goals in the second period. The final shots were 38-28 for Calgary. The Pats were 1-3 on their power play and 3-3 on their penalty kill.
Meanwhile, the Spokane Chiefs are 23-26-4-1 with 51 points, and are eighth in the West.
The Chiefs are coming off a 6-4 win over the Wenatchee Wild on Wednesday on the road. Shea Van Olm scored twice, with one shorthanded and Dawson Cowan made 31 saves. Berkly Catton, (1G-1A), Will McIsaac (1G-1A) and Rasmus Ekstrom (1G-1A) also had multi-point games and Conner Roulette chipped in with two assists. The shots were 40-35 for Spokane. The Chiefs were 0-2 on their power play and 1-2 on their penalty kill.
The Chiefs are 2-2 over their last four games, and are 6-3-1 in February after going 3-7-1 in January.
Spokane finished the 2019-20 season with 41 wins which was third in the U.S. Division. They’ve finished under .500 in each of the last four seasons since.
