PREVIEW
The Regina Pats take on the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Trans-Canada Clash, beginning a home-and-home at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. The Pats last played the Warriors on January 10, winning 5-4 in overtime on the road. Regina is now 2-3-1 against the Warriors this season.
Caden Brown (3G-2A), Zach Pantelakis (3G-2A) and John Babcock (5A) have tallied five points against the Warriors this season, while both Kelton Pyne and Ewan Huet have split the action.
Aiden Ziprick has 10 points (2G-8A) in six games against the Pats while Luke Moroz has six points (1G-5A). Pavel McKenzie and Ethan Seminuk have each scored four goals against Regina this season.
The Pats are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Prince Albert Raiders on Tuesday, and have now dropped their last four games (0-3-0-1). Regina was trailing 3-0 going into the third period before scoring three straight goals to tie the contest. Zach Moore and Matt Paranych (1G-1A) got the Pats within one, and Julien Maze tied things up with 39 seconds to play in regulation.
The final shots were 37-36 for the Raiders. Kelton Pyne got the start, and made 36 saves. Both teams were 0-2 on their power plays.
Meanwhile, the Moose Jaw Warriors broke their 12 game skid with a 6-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday inside the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Pavel McKenzie lead the way with four points (1G-3A), while Krzysztof Macias (3G), Aiden Ziprick (3A), and Lynden Lakovic (2G-1A) had three point contests. Matthew Hutchison made 36 saves in the win. The shots were 38-22 for the Blades. Moose Jaw Was 2-4 on their power play and 1-1 on their penalty kill.
WHO TO WATCH
Regina Pats 19-year-old defenceman Ephram McNutt has seven assists over his last eight games after recording two helpers on Tuesday in Prince Albert. McNutt now has 27 points (4G-23A) in 44 games this season.
Lynden Lakovic has leads the Warriors in goals, assists and points this season, recording 48 points (22G-31A) in 39 games. The West Kelowna product is ranked for the upcoming 2025 NHL Draft.
COMING UP
The Pats are back in action tomorrow at 6pm when they finish up their eight game season series with the Warriors at the Brandt Centre. The Pats will then have six games left in their schedule. The Regiment is back in action on Tuesday, March 11 when they host the Saskatoon Blades.
