PREVIEW: Pats Begin Three-In-Three versus Giants
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats continue their six game homestand today and play the first of three games in three nights this weekend as they host the Vancouver Giants at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.
The Regina Pats and Vancouver Giants enter today’s game with 34 points each this season. The Pats hold a 14-19-4-2 record, and are currently 10th in the East but just five points out of a playoff spot. The Giants are 16-22-2-0 and are eighth in the West.

The Regina Pats broke their seven game losing-streak with a thrilling comeback on Saturday, defeating the Victoria Royals 2-1 in overtime. Tye Spencer tied the game with under three minutes to play and Zackary Shantz scored the overtime winner late in the extra-frame for his first goal in 18 games.
Kelton Pyne was stellar between the pipes, allowing just one goal on 29 shots. The Pats were outshot by the Royals by a final tally of 29-28. The Pats finished the contest 1-5 on their power play and 6-7 on their penalty kill.
On the other side, the Vancouver Giants play the fourth game of their five game Eastern Division road trip today. The Giants had their three game winning-streak come to a close on Wednesday following a 7-2 loss to the Saskatoon Blades.
The Giants only goals in that contest came from Mazden Leslie who scored for a fifth time in four games, and Tyson Zimmer who picked up his first goal in a Giants uniform. Brett Mirwald made 38 saves in the loss. The final shots were 45-22 for Saskatoon. The Giants went 1-3 on their power play while the Blades went 1-5.
