WHAT’S HAPPENING
Tonight, we will be honouring our moms and billets prior to puck drop with a special pre-game ceremony, thanking them for all their support. The Pats organization would not be successful without our billet families, and parents.
PREVIEW
It’s the third of four meetings this season between the Pats and Rebels, with the Pats taking the first two games. Regina won 4-3 in overtime on January 4 in Red Deer before defeating them 4-3 on January 15.
The Pats are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday after defeating them 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday at the Brandt Centre.
Regina trailed 3-0 in the second period before adding two goals less than two minutes apart to bring the Club within one going into the third. Cohen Klassen and Keets Fawcett scored goals for Regina while Ewan Huet made 32 saves. The Pats went 2-2 on their penalty kill and 1-8 on their power play. The final shots were 37-33 for the Raiders.
Meanwhile, the Red Deer Rebels have dropped 15 of their last 16 games following a 7-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday at Westoba Place. The Rebels are in the middle of a three game Eastern Division road trip, and have dropped their last two games after snapping a 13 game skid on Jan. 25 vs MJ (W, 5-1).
Jett Larson and Ty Coupland scored goals for the Rebels while Chase Wutzke made 31 saves. The shots were 38-31 for the Wheat Kings. The Rebels were 1-3 on their power play and 2-4 on their penalty kill.
WHO TO WATCH
Cohen Klassen scored his fourth of the season on Wednesday. He now has 4G-3A-7PTS over his last 11 games. Meanwhile Zach Pantelakis had an assist last game, giving him seven points (4G-3A) in his last 10 outings.
20-year-old forward Jett Larson returned from injury last week, and has three points (2G-1A) in three games since. Along with Larson, Ty Coupland and Matthew Gard will be asked to carry the load offensively with the Rebels missing Jace Weir, Kalan Lind, Ollie Josephson and Jaxon Fuder.
