PREVIEW: Pats Begin Second-Half Schedule In Brandon
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats open up their second half schedule on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., CST against the Brandon Wheat Kings inside Westoba Place.
The Pats enter tonight action with a 13-16-2-2 record with 30 points, which is tied for ninth in the Eastern Conference standings after 33 games. The Wheat Kings come in with a 16-12-4-1 record and 37 points which is tied for fourth in the East.

This will be the first of four games in six days as the Regina Pats look to continue the momentum their gained at the end of the first half tonight against the Wheat Kings, playing then in the sixth of eight meetings this season. The Pats finished their final weekend of the first half with four of a possible six points, going 1-0-1-1 over their recent Alberta road trip which wrapped up on December 17.
The Pats are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings, as the club has now gathered at least a point in three straight contests. Jaxsin Vaughan Borya Valis scored for the Pats while Madden Mulawka made 27 saves in his Pats and season debut. The final shots were 35-30 for the Pats. The Pats went 0-2 on their power play and 6-7 on their penalty kill.
Meanwhile, the Brandon Wheat Kings had their six game winning-streak come to a close on December 17 as the club finished their first half schedule with a 4-3 regulation loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Rylen Roersma, Carter Klippenstein and Brett Hyland scored for the Wheat Kings, Charlie Elick had two assists and Carson Bjarnason made 26 saves. The Wheat Kings tied the game early in the third before the Warriors scored the go-ahead goal late in the final stanza. The final shots were an even 30-30. Brandon went 0-4 on their power play and 1-1 on their penalty kill.
