PREVIEW: Pats Begin Eight Game Homestand
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats begin an eight game homestand tonight inside the Brandt Centre when they host the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7:00 p.m., on Saturday.
The Pats enter tonight’s game with 13-17-3-2 record and 31 points, which is ninth in the Eastern Conference and four points back of eighth. The Brandon Wheat Kings are third in the East with a 18-12-4-1 record, with 41 points.

The Regina Pats are had their stretch of four straight games with at least a point come to a close on Friday following a 5-2 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors inside the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
The Pats trailed 3-0 after two but were able to climb their way back to within one, scoring twice in the early portions of the third. Zane Rowan netted his second of the season and first in 17 games (last was Nov. 3 vs. BDN) and Borya Valis tallied his 12th of the season, scoring for a fifth time in six games. Sam Oremba grabbed two primary assists, giving him four points (2G-2A) in two games since the break. Kelton Pyne made 37 saves in the loss.
The final shots were 49-42 for the Pats as Regina tallied a season-best 49 shots on net. The Pats went 1-4 on power play and 4-5 on the penalty kill.
Meanwhile, the Brandon Wheat Kings come in as one of the hottest teams in the WHL, having won eight of their last nine games as they are 2-0 to begin the post Christmas break schedule, grabbing a 5-4 overtime win over the Pats on Wednesday followed by a 3-2 shootout win on Friday against the Saskatoon Blades.
Jayden Wiens and Luke Shipley scored for the Wheat Kings with Caleb Hadland scoring the shootout winner. Carson Bjarnason made 35 saves, stopping all 10 that he faced in the third period. The final shots were 37-37. The Blades were 1-2 on their power play while the Wheat Kings went 0-5.
