PREVIEW
The Regina Pats begin their 10 day, six game road trip tonight against the Kamloops Blazers in the first and only meeting between these two clubs this season. This road trip will see the Pats play all B.C., division clubs before finishing up in Edmonton on December 8.
The Regina Pats are looking to break their four game skid today as they are coming off a 5-0 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre. The shutout loss marked the first for the Pats this season.
The Kamloops Blazers have dropped their last four games and are coming off a 6-2 loss in Spokane on Wednesday. Oren Shtrom and Tommy Lafreniere scored for the Blazers while Dylan Ernst and Logan Edmonstone split the duties in net. The Chiefs went 3-7 on their power play while the Blazers were 0-5 on their power play. The final shots were 31-28 for Spokane.
WHO TO WATCH
For the Pats, Julien Maze is our player to watch as he is expected to make his Pats debut tonight. Acquired in a trade for Cole Temple on Wednesday, the Edmonton, Alta. product has 19 points (6G-13A) in 21 games this season. The 5-foot-8, 165 lb. left-shot forward was selected in the first round (20th overall) of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
Tommy Lafreniere has been red hot for the Blazers as of late, recording at least a point in five straight games (2G-4A). His 10 goals this season ranks fourth on the Blazers roster behind Emmitt Finnie (16), Nathan Behm (14) and Jordan Keller (11).
COMING UP
The Pats will stay in the BC’s interior this weekend as they will travel to Kelowna and battle the Rockets on Saturday with puck drop set for 8:05 Regina time. The Pats will then travel to Vancouver Island to take on the Victoria Royals on Tuesday.
